Volume 45 | October 2, 2021
This issue is all about Fire Prevention Week and the Statue of Liberty!
Greetings, Tutors!

Since 1922, Fire Prevention Week has been observed the second week of October to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire in 1871. This issue of Keeping Touch offers information and activities to use with your student to raise fire safety prevention and awareness.

Did you know that the Statue of Liberty will be 135 years old on October 28? The Statue of Liberty is not just another statue or monument but a universal representation of freedom for all people worldwide. The statue has greeted millions of immigrants. It embodies hope and opportunity for those seeking a better life in America. Use the resources in this newsletter to help your student learn about this iconic symbol.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need help with tutoring strategies during this time. Be well and take care.

With gratitude and hope,
