Dr. Katharine Clouser, MD, FAAP, MBA, is a board-certified pediatrician and hospital medicine specialist who serves as the Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs at Hackensack University Medical Center. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. Clouser received her BS at Seton Hall University and earned her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She later completed her Master of Business Administration at the University of Florida.
In addition to her clinical leadership role, Dr. Clouser is a practicing pediatric hospitalist, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children in the acute care setting. She is nationally recognized for her work in quality improvement, particularly in the area of mental health care in pediatric hospital environments. Her work has contributed to shaping best practices and improving patient outcomes for vulnerable pediatric populations.
In addition to clinical interests, she has an interest in medical education, serving as an Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program at Hackensack University Medical Center and is the Assistant Dean of Admissions at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. She currently serves as the President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, where she leads advocacy, education, and quality initiatives to improve the health and well-being of children across the state.
