The Canadian economy is showing resilience in the face of tightened monetary policy and slow global growth. Canada’s output growth and labor market activity exceeded market expectations in the first quarter of 2023. This resilience has prompted the Bank of Canada to further raise interest rates to temper excess demand in the market.

CRANBROOK LEGION POPPY CAMPAIGN NEEDS OUR HELP!

Did you know that per capita, the Cranbrook Legion has one of the most successful Poppy Campaigns in the province? Did you know that as well as Cranbrook, our branch also looks after Kimberley and Jaffray with poppies and wreaths?

Every year there is an increase in attendance at the Remembrance Day Ceremonies. The money raised from the Poppy campaign is used to assist veterans and their families. Each year they are able to make very generous donations to the EKFH and Angel Air from the Poppy money raised. These organizations benefit everyone in the East Kootenays.

Sadly this year, The Legion is without a home to run the Poppy campaign from. They are looking for a donated space, hopefully in the downtown core, 1500 – 2000 sq.ft..
