Be on the look out! The BIA has a few fun things planned to show our appreciation of YOU!

We would like to extend the invitation to our next Member Orientation. The first half of this meeting will explain how members benefit from the BIA, which range from Legislation and Advocacy to upcoming events, and the various councils and committees available to join. The second half will focus on a Meet and Greet with our BIA Board of Directors, BIA CEO, Membership Liaisons, and other influential people representing our different councils and committees.

Get Into the Habit of Starting Your Search in NAHB Member Savings Program or National Purchase Program (NPP)

The NAHB Member Savings Program continues to make a big impact in boosting members' bottom lines. Through the exclusive discounts from a variety of leading companies, NAHB members saved a total of more than $40 million in 2023.

Many of you know me, my name is Shannon Gaunt and I am leading the charge on member benefits and the NPP and NAHB discount savings program. I was blown away by the discounts. True tangible discounts to companies and products we all use on the daily. Often times discount programs are not useful but in this case, it really is. Our number one utilized discount is to Verizon but click through to the “At a Glance”. Verizon, Lowes Pro, Nissan, Dell, Farmers Insurance, UPS, and more… Historically UPS was largely utilized by our association.

I’ve now been affiliated with the BIA and SMC for almost 13 years. Being apart of the SMC makes me personally feel like I have every resource available to me to make me successful. I know each person here, networking event or not, I could call on at any level or capacity to ask for advice and each one of these people would be available to me and a resource for me. The connections that you make here are lifelong. In my early years in the industry, I would dread networking. Now I literally look forward to the events all year long. Some of the greatest relationships I have in my professional career were made at that table or at an event powered by this wonderful organization. I’ve been very lucky in my career that I work for a company, and direct leader/mentor who has always advocated & supported my involvement in this industry and too has seen first-hand the benefits of it- so this certainly makes it easier for me to be excited to be involved. 

As one of the only new home sales professionals to sit on the sales and marketing council I can speak directly to what it means to be nominated and recognized for your achievements. We could all say we don’t need recognition to do what we do day in and out, but I’ll tell you something it certainly makes me work my hardest when I know, and I feel like someone appreciates and values me for it. BIA PAC Fundraiser

The BIA PAC raises funds to support candidates that champion housing production. We are predominantly in a phase where most elected officials understand the need for more housing. The BIA PAC supports candidates that are champions of housing and will work to improve our ability to build the housing this region needs.
