Tree removal and Tree Maintenance

It is the law in Maryland that you must have a licensed tree expert for both pruning and/or removal of trees. Without a license, contractors are not permitted to practice or advertise tree care services in the state. They must possess adequate and related college education, plus training and carry a specific amount of liability and property damage insurance as set by the state.

To find a licensed professional, go to the MD DNR website here. To verify a license, check the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation website here. You may also call the Maryland Home Improvement Commission at 410-230-6309.
