“Let it be done to me according to your word.”
- Luke 1:38
Dear Saint Mary’s Friends,

Our Lady’s “Yes” to God captures the common thread in this week’s Newsletter.

A Good Listen - Veritas Catholic Radio
Parishioner, Steve Lee, said yes when inspired to found Veritas Catholic Radio Network. Please take the time to watch these 2 brief video interviews with Steve HERE. The Veritas studio and office are right here at St. Mary’s in our Parish office building. What a blessing it is in these noisy and confusing times to have a strong and clear Catholic voice so available to us. The station’s Spring Pledge Drive is next week (May 3 – 7). Information about supporting this truly inspired work of the Holy Spirit can be found HERE.
A Good Read – Sally Read’s “Night’s Bright Darkness” & “Annunciation”
Author Sally Read has become a friend this past year. She is an Englishwoman, living in Italy with her husband and daughter, and who had a remarkable conversion from a dark atheism to bright faith. “Night’s Bright Darkness” is the story of her conversion and the role prayer, Eucharist, Saints, and the deep teachings of the Church played in it. She followed that up with “Annunciation: A Call to Faith in a Broken World,” a book length “letter” to her young daughter beginning on the eve of her First Communion. The Blessed Mother’s “Yes” is the template for this reflection on holding on to faith in an often unwelcoming world. I highly recommend both books which can be found at Amazon and elsewhere. You can see a wonderful interview with Sally HERE.
First Communion and Confirmation at St. Mary’s
This weekend we’re finishing up with our 5th, 6th, and 7th First Communions and gearing up for quite a few Confirmation Services in May. Please keep these young recipients of these sacraments in your prayers, that God’s gracious work in them will become deeply rooted in them.

Many blessings,
Monsignor Royal

May Crowning
Sunday, May 2 - 10:30 AM Mass

May is traditionally a month devoted to Mary, kicked off with a "May Crowning." Young girls of the Parish up to fifth grade are invited to bring a flower from your own garden to Mass on Sunday, May 2nd! The oldest girl at the 10:30 AM Mass will place a flower crown; followed by a short procession with song--and then everyone will be invited to add their flowers to a vase next to our Blessed Mother and kneel before her for a moment of prayer.

Look for live Children's Liturgy events coming soon!
