Family Friendly Concert
You are invited to a free concert by Tim Zimmerman and The King’s Brass on Sunday, June 9 th at 6:00 p.m. at Grace UCC in Uniontown. (13275 Cleveland Ave. NW, 330-699-3255). The King’s Brass performs hymn classics with a contemporary flair. This is a family-friendly event which promises to lift hearts and spirits through music. The concert is free to all; an optional freewill offering will be accepted.
Webinar for General Synod Resolutions
The UCC's Council for Climate Justice is sponsoring a webinar in which lead authors and advocates for five environmentally-related resolutions will present on their respective resolutions. The webinar is for anyone in the UCC regardless of whether or not you are attending General Synod. It is important for members throughout the life of our denomination to be engaged in the process of considering vital matters of faith. The five resolutions pertain to the Green New Deal, forced migration, carbon dividend legislation, nuclear war prevention, and the use of Styrofoam. The webinar will be held on June 6th at 2 pm ET, but a recording will be sent out to all who register. Register today!
Standing Rock Webinar
This month's Creation Justice Webinar features Nick Estes who recently published the acclaimed book on Standing Rock and the long tradition of indigenous resistance. Naomi Klein has praised the book for its transformative stories from the front lines while observing, "Embedded in the centuries-long struggle for Indigenous liberation resides our best hope for a safe and just future for everyone on this planet." In this webinar, Estes will provide critical historical knowledge and perspective for people of faith and conscience seeking environmental justice. The webinar will be held on June 13th at 1 pm. Denison UCC Seeks Emergency Help for Code Violations
Denison UCC needs $52,000 for building repairs and to avoid massive fines.

The multiracial congregation serves 5,000 neighbors. Kids play basketball and adults come for food, prayer, coffee, clothes, and conversation. Native American cultural arts and Latin dance classes also meet there.

In 2015, the church was cited for exterior code violations. The church raised $100,000 and completed several repairs, but they need to raise $52,000 more to meet the court’s deadlines. Organist/Pianist
Old South Church United Church of Christ in Kirtland, OH is seeking a part-time organist/pianist to join our staff. This includes playing for our 10:30 a.m. Sunday service and accompanying our adult choir which rehearses on Thursdays. The church has a 2-manual Wicks pipe organ. This position regularly runs from September through May.
Salary range is $7,000-8,000. Playing for summer services is optional and paid separately.

Attention Youth and Young Adults!
As we prepare for the 2020 National Youth Event we are asking for you to reflect on the theme of UNITE! and the parable of Jesus feeding the 5,000. Daily themes to deepen our time together include UNITE for the Earth! UNITE for Justice! and UNITE in Faith! Youth and Young Adults from the UCC are being asked to submit original pieces of art to be used to help the worship team create liturgy and resources. Please submit your poems, reflections, prayers, drawings, paintings, song lyrics and other pieces to the UCC Minister for Youth and Young Adult Engagement ( [email protected] ) by September 15 th .

If you'd like to share information about an upcoming or past event sponsored or co-sponsored by a church in our Association, please send your article of 100 words or less in a paragraph by Tuesday noon to [email protected]. Be extravagantly welcoming by including the name, location, address, date, time and contact information of the event. Items will run for two consecutive weeks. Fliers may be sent in addition to the 100-word article and a link will be provided to the flier in the article or the flier can be used as the article. Fliers should be less than 5MB and in Word or PDF format. Photos (which display above your article) may be sent in addition to the article. Photos should be less than 5MB and in JPG or PNG format.
