Here's what our scholarship students have to say about the covid19 crisis
Rosa
: "My mother lost her job during the covid19 crisis. My sister and I tried to make some money working at a shop selling clothes but the money was never enough. It just got more difficult because we barely have any money for food. I want to thank you a million times for not forgetting my family and me."
Pedro:
"We have tried to make some money by growing our own vegetables and selling them to the neighbors in order to buy some food for us. Today I want to thank you dearly for all the support you have given us."
Crisol:
"Life has taken a dramatic turn all over the world. Unfortunately the virus arrived in Guatemala which has created a lot of fear among everybody. None of our family members has been able to find work. We have been using up the few savings we had but we now have run out. I am so grateful for everybody who is helping us during these difficult moments. You are angels that God sent us to take care of us."
Erik
: "My mom told me her main concern is to have food for her children but now there are no jobs and she can't find enough money to buy food. Without your support we would suffer more. Your help enables me to stay in school. Our family is thankful for the food you provide us so we are not hungry every day."
Sandra:
"Nobody was emotionally or economically prepared. I want to let you know that my biggest fear was not to catch the virus but to lose my scholarship after having already lost my job. Even though the entire world is suffering right now we may not lose our faith in God. We need to be more united than ever and keep on believing in better times."
Alex
: "I am always trying to be a good student and pass my classes. I had difficulties before the pandemic and now it is even worse. Before my father worked two or three days a week which was barely enough to buy food but now he doesn't have work and we have hardly anything to eat."
