OCDSB Director of Education

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board welcomes Camille Williams-Taylor as Director of Education. Ms. Williams-Taylor officially assumed the role on January 1st, 2019. 

Camille Williams-Taylor has over 29 years of experience in education including provincial, post-secondary and public education leadership roles, and has most recently been a senior executive with the Durham District School Board since 2011. 

Kindergarten Registration 2019

If your child will be 4 years old before December 31st, 2019, then they are ready to start kindergarten in September 2019.

Give your child the best possible start! Call or stop by your child’s new school to pick up a registration package or register  online !

To find your local school, try our helpful   School Locator . You will be asked for your home address and the type of program you wish to enroll your child in our District. 

Don't worry if you miss the official registration week. You can register anytime in one of our schools or  online .

Building Brighter Futures Together @OCDSB

The OCDSB strategic planning process is well underway, and in January 2019 the District will enter the Strategies & Actions stage which includes two evenings of focus group discussions.  At the focus group sessions, participants will be provided with feedback from the idea exchange and will work in groups to explore and discuss the results from the online consultation, and help define specific strategies and actions for achieving identified goals. Space is limited so all participants must pre-register. Please click on the Register Now hyperlink below for the date you’d like to attend.

Director's Annual Report 2017-2018

The OCDSB releases an annual report in the fall of each year. The report is a summary of accomplishments from the previous school year and details progress on our strategic priorities, student achievement data, budget facts and figures, enrollment information and much more.

School Year Calendar

Semester 1 Secondary Exams -
January 25th-31st, 2019

Exams are scheduled for students in grades 9-12 from Friday, January 25th to Thursday, January 31st, 2019. Semester 2 begins Monday, February 4th, 2018.

Board Organizational Meeting - December 3rd, 2018

On Monday, December 3rd, the OCDSB held it's annual Board Organizational Meeting.

This is the annual meeting wherein trustees elect a Chair and Vice-Chair along with the appointment of the Boards and Committees.

Trustee Lynn Scott (West Carleton - March/Stittsville/ Rideau- Goulbourn) was elected by fellow trustees to the position of Chair of the Board. Trustee Erica Braunovan (Somerset/Kitchissippi) was elected to the position of Vice-Chair.

Board Meeting -
December 11th, 2018

Ministry Consultation on Education in Ontario 
Trustees approved the OCDSB draft response to the December 2018 Ministry Consultation for submission to the Ministry of Education.

Indigenous Education Advisory Council (IEAC) Report
It has been determined that IEAC will include:
  • Three members representing Elders, Senators, and Traditional Knowledge Keepers;
  • Two members representing the First Nations community (inclusive of one member from the Algonquin Nation);
  • Two members of the Inuit community;
  • Two members of the Métis community;
  • One trustee representative;
  • One Indigenous education lead ;
  • One Superintendent;
  • At least two and not more than three student representatives; and
  • A maximum of two OCDSB staff members.
