BEAUTIFUL DAYS FOR RECESS, CYO CELEBRATIONS, THE FEAST OF ST. PATRICK, YELLOW AND BLUE FOR $2, & THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET!

This past week got off to a beautiful start weather-wise, and ended in the same fashion which is always good for the soul!

The week’s highlights included not one, but two dress down days... 

One of course was for fun, as we represented the Irish in true form and fashion with our annual "Wearin' of the Green"! Irish or not, our students and faculty happily wore green to celebrate the Feast of St. Patrick. A few of our classes were visited by mischievous leprechauns who engaged in various shenanigans!



The second dress down was an outreach and almsgiving opportunity put forth by our National Junior Honor Society. For $2 faculty and students were asked to wear Blue and Yellow to demonstrate our support and ongoing prayers for the people of the Ukraine. All six hundred and fifty dollars (WOW!) from the dress down will be donated to Catholic Relief Services and will provide shelter, hot meals and transportation to safety for Ukrainians.

Our week ended with the opportunity to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet as a school community for this same intention... Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us!

Our Call to Action

Our school community continues on our journey that focuses on PRAYER, FASTING and ALMSGIVING. Our students have reflected upon making the next forty days prayerful , purposeful and penitential.

This beautiful prayer chain was created by our second grade students and is a compilation of the prayers written by all of our students for the Ukrainian people. This wonderful creation is adorning our Blessed Mother in our most traveled stairwell, and is a constant reminder of the prayers that are being offered for peace in our world.

Our National Junior Honor Society will engage our community in the Lenten pillar of ALMSGIVING, encouraging our community to give to and be of service to others. Each week a service opportunity will be initiated, introduced and encouraged by our NJHS members.

Please help by supporting their efforts through generosity and prayer.



Next week, Damien's Pantry will benefit from our school community's generous giving! There has been an increase lately in the number of families who visit the pantry for groceries, as well as a bit of a supply shortage. Please help if you can!

7pm at St. Francis Xavier Church.

• 2nd Graders from SFX School receiving the Sacraments here at St. Francis will attend classes in-person with us in the Parish Center on Sun March 20, 27 & April 3.
• Day of Reflection: Saturday March 26th 12:30pm-3:30pm all (Level 2) First Communicants will be joining us accompanied by a parent in the parish center for continued catechesis & reflection on receiving First Holy Communion in May.

• Got Water Bottles?

With the weather getting warmer, it is definitely time to bring water bottles to school DAILY! Many students have been stopping by the office to borrow cups to fill at water station... No Bueño! Water bottles preferred!

• Excessive Tardies!

Not sure if the time change could be an influencing factor, but it seems as though the number of tardies has increased this past week! Please make sure that clocks at home are set accurately, to assure your child(ren) are on time for school each day. Arriving late can be a bit of a "set back" for students, as our day starts promptly at 8am. Thank you!

• Important Reminder!

Please recall that our school is peanut/treenut free! In order to keep all students safe in our classrooms and cafeteria, please make sure your child(ren)'s snacks are completely peanut/treenut free! Thank you!
