Catholic Schools Week School Spirit & Pride Demonstrated Beautifully this Past Week.

The Catholic Schools Week festivities that ensued this past week were numerous and a blast for our students! A few highlights of our week included STEM activities, a Silly Hat/Hair Competition, our annual tribute assembly to our veterans, a Sock Service Project, a middle school FAM House competition and a Boosterthon Fundraising Finale!

Our students participated JOY-fully in all of the activities and truly had a great week.

We close out CSW 2022 with our annual Open House on Sunday, and the opportunity for our students to demonstrate their school pride! Students who wear their uniforms to Mass this coming weekend (either at St. Francis or their home parish) will receive a Spirit Wear Day pass! Our communities LOVE to see our student in their uniforms.. it is a great testimony to the value of a Catholic education.

Next week we buckle down and demonstrate academic achievement. MAP Growth Testing will begin, and of course on the horizon is our February reprieve.

While the winter weather prevented our Open House last weekend, and impacted our students' presence at Mass, there were a few current students, as well as a future student (Class of 2035) that submitted CSW Kickoff Mass Pics!

Our NJHS sponsored this service opportunity resulting in over 300 pairs of new socks for the Sister Rose House to help homeless members of our local community! Well done!

A Perfect Preschool Patriotic Parade through the Classrooms was followed by...

Gala 2022...

CELEBRATE!

Our winter MAP Growth Testing window will open on Monday, February 7th!



• Kindergarten and First Grade assessments set to take place on Monday & Tuesday,
• Grades 3-5 Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
• Grades 6-8 will test the week of Feb 14.

Please make sure your child(ren) is/are well rested, well fed, & ready to do their best on the test!

100th DAY OF SCHOOL!

We will celebrate our 100th day of our 100th year in vintage style! Students can come to school on Tuesday, Feb 8th dressed as 100-year-old's to commemorate this great milestone!

Fly on the Wall Heard in the Hall....

On Wednesday at dismissal, a conversation was initiated by one of our 4th graders: I had just announced during end of day announcements that we would be wearing sports gear on Thursday.



Student: "Mrs. Russo, you mentioned that the Celtics, the Red Sox and the Patriots were good choices for Team Gear Day. I have a question for you."

Me: "Of course... What is it?"

Student: "Would my St. Francis Xavier basketball jersey be good sports gear?"

Me: "ABSOLUTELY!"

Student: "Good.. because I have been dreaming about playing basketball for SFX my whole life."

WONDERFUL JOB!

One week ago today, our middle school students demonstrated scientific greatness at our annual Science Fair. Thanks to the excellent instruction and direction provided by Mrs. Shaughnessy, our students rose to the occasion and persevered through their projects! Students are still finishing up classroom presentations, but a great job by ALL! CLICK HERE for more Science Fair pictures.
