The ALLELUIA JOY continues...

NEW LIFE, NEW NJHS INDUCTEES, CHURCH BUDDIES &

AN AUTHOR VISIT!

Our school is a VERY busy place these days, as we prepare to cross the finish line of the 2021-2022 school year... and what a year it has been!

Our preschool 3 & 4 students could not contain their excitement with the signs of new life that became a part of their classroom experience this week! Baby chicks wiggled their way to emerge from their shells and butterflies broke forth from their chrysalis into the world of our preschool classrooms. Such a wonderful way to experience the joy and miracle of new life! Please click here to visit our preschool teachers web pages for more NEW LIFE pics, as well as some Around the World pics from Miss Dandurand's class.... an exciting week for our preschoolers!

On Wednesday evening, we welcomed 15 new members to the Sister Louise Place O. P. Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Twelve 6th graders and three 8th graders were awarded the honor and privilege of becoming members of the NJHS based on academic standing, the completion of the application process, and an interview that was conducted by administration and Mr. Simonson. The candidates have proved themselves to be worthy of this honor, and will continue to uphold the five pillars of the society, Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Citizenship and Character. We look forward to what next school year will hold for our NJHS, and the creative ideas that will be executed for the betterment of our school and our community. Congratulations to all of our NEW INDUCTEES

For the first time this school year, our entire school family, Small Wonders through Grade 8, made the trek down Main Street to attend Holy Mass on Ascension Thursday! The Mass was wonderful, the singing spectacular, and the behavior (even of our smallest of wonders) while not exceptional, was totally acceptable! Our students love their CHURCH BUDDIES and we look forward to next school year when we can bring back weekly Mass attendance as a part of our spiritual lives and faith formation.

Former substitute at St. Francis and AUTHOR Mrs. Diane Finn came to VISIT our Grades 3, 4 & 5 students to share her book, The Secrets of Plymouth Rock.

Mrs. Finn also shared her vast knowledge of Plymouth Plantation in preparation for Grades 3 & 5's upcoming field trip.

GUESS WHO IS FINALLY RUNNING ON SOLAR ENERGY?

After an excruciatingly long process, due to COVID delays and various obstacles, our conversion to green energy happened very smoothly and quietly on Friday, May 20th. Our school is officially running on solar power! Seventy six percent of our net metering credit will be applied to our school, and the remaining credit will be allocated to Sacred Heart Skilled Nursing Home in New Bedford and the Medical Missionaries of Mary in Somerville.

We are thrilled to have this project in our rearview mirror, as we look forward to the savings for our school!

Please know that we believe that parents have the ultimate responsibility of being the "first deliverers" of any information that they choose to share with their children pertaining to this terrible tragedy. As an extension of your family, we are here to support, respond to concerns or questions that may arise, and without question encourage our students to pray for all those who have been affected by this horrific event. Please click here for information that we have shared with our teachers that may also support you with any conversations that may arise with your children at home.

Please also know that we have been revisiting our safety procedures, and have naturally become even more vigilant with regards to the ongoing safety of our campus. Thank you in advance for your support and partnership in our school's efforts to limit visitors to the school, as well as have a keen sense of who is approaching our school building.

Cornerstone 2022 _4_.png

Thank you to all of our school parents who attended this year's gala! The evening was a fun one for sure, but we would love to see a few more donors to the Call of the Heart. This year's Call was a plea that is near and dear to the hearts of our 4 Cornerstone Award Recipients, as well as a nod to all of our teachers.

All monies donated to the Call of the Heart will be used to enhance the curriculum materials of our teachers in the areas of Science and Literature... two areas that are essential to sparking the curiosity of children's minds!

Please consider contributing to our efforts to improve our resources and help our teachers and students to have the best materials possible.

Please click here to be led to the GiveSmart platform where a credit card payment can be made, or simply send a check to the office with Call of the Heart on the memo line.

Thank you in advance for your consideration!

Fly on the Wall Heard in the Hall....

This week's fly heard a conversation in the hallway outside the boys' bathroom:

Preschool Boy:

"Why are girls so much betterer than boys?"

Preschool Teacher:

"Girls are not better than boys... boys and girls are different from each other, but not better than one another."

Preschool Boy:

"Girls are just so suspicious all the time!"
