The "ALLELUIA!" was heard
LOUD & CLEAR today...
AWESOME CAR WASH, HISTORY FAIR GREATNESS, GRADE 1 AUTHORS, CELEBRATING THE JOY OF ART,
GYM TEACHERS EXTRAORDINAIRE
&
AN EASTER CELEBRATION LIKE NONE OTHER!
Our school is a VERY busy place these days, as we prepare to cross the finish line of the 2021-2022 school year... and what a year it has been!
Thanks to all who came to support our 8th graders last weekend with their perfect day for a
Car Wash! It was a fun and financially fruitful four hours of non-stop assembly line of "two at a time" wetting, sudsing, rinsing and drying. Customer cars contained plenty of generous and pleased parents, parishioners, driver bys and alumni stopping in for a wash, or a wave and a compliment for the school and its students. Awesome job, Class of 2022!
This year's History Fair was a refreshing return to the days prior to COVID, when our students could demonstrate their researched & rehearsed expertise of a historical moment or noteable person that they have studied in their grade level curriculum. Our students impressed judges visitors, and the younger members of our school community with their presentations, high quality trifolds, and enthusiasm for their selected topics. The energy in the room was notable, and the cheers put forth for the winners were confirmation of the efforts of not only those who rose to the top of the pack, but for all participants who worked so hard on their projects.
Thank you, Mr. Ferreira for stretching our students to do more and achieve more!
I was greatly disappointed to have missed one of my most favorite school traditions that also took place this past week. Our first grade authors proudly presented their magnum opus to their parents, siblings and church buddies, as they read aloud Taco Tuesday for all to enjoy! This 10th annual First Grade Author Share did not disappoint, as each student read aloud the page that they had written and illustrated with all the glitz and glamour of being a published author!
Thank you, Mrs. Martel for engaging your students in an academically focused, memory making experience that will remain with them in the years to come!
Our students are being celebrated as artists for the next few weeks, as our Art teacher, Miss D, has hung student selected "top two" choices of pieces to be hung in the hallways for all to admire and appreciate. While our traditional Art Show has not been fully resurrected, this alternative hallway gallery will be up until we make our final departure, and parents are welcome to pop in to see the beauty of our students' artistic creations at any time!
Thank you, Miss D for helping us to Celebrate the Joy of Art!
Thursdays Gym classes were enhanced by the presence of Robby (8) and Josh (5) Duarte, who were acting as Gym Teacher(s) for the Day, thanks to their parents, and their bid on last year's auction item! From Gaga Ball to What Time is it Mr. Fox, both boys had a great time, living the day in the shadow of our amazing Gym teacher, Mr. Amaro!
For this week's finale, we were able to resurrect an old tradition by hosting our Easter Celebration Egg-stravaganza! While the pandemic has prevented this annual event, this year we were blessed enough to have a whole school assembly at which each class (and even the staff!) performed a song/dance/musical selection of their choice for the rest of the school!
Celebrating the joy of the resurrection is not a one day occurrence at St. Francis by any means....ALLELUIA!
God Bless & Have a Great Weekend
