A JOY-FILLED WEEK....

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK (& SOUND!) A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!

This past week's advent JOY was easily found in our hallways and classrooms, as the songs of the season were clearly heard! Students are "warming up" their voices for our Merry & Bright Outdoor Christmas Event this weekend. Our teachers have been maintaining a sense of sanity and order as the Christmas excitement continues to permeate our classrooms! Christmas conversations, projects, service opportunities, STEM activities and a dress down day attempt to interfere with instruction,

yet our teachers press on!

Enjoy the weekend with your families.

Hoping to see many of you on Sunday afternoon!

IMPORTANT "NEED TO KNOWS" FOR SUNDAY EVENING!

  • From 4-6pm on Sunday 12/19, our school community will gather on our front campus for caroling, cocoa, tree lighting, reindeer games, and a visit from St. Nicholas!

  • PLEASE NOTE! The main driveway of our school will be CLOSED to all traffic for this event. ALL VEHICLES WILL ENTER (& EVENTUALLY EXIT) the narrower driveway that we normally EXIT the school grounds. The safety of our school community is our greatest concern, and this gathering is a full front campus event that will extend into the main driveway of the school. Please proceed with caution, be patient, and pay attention to the traffic controllers for directions! Thanks!

  • Forgot to send a gently used or new toy to school today? NO WORRIES! Our NJHS sponsored Toy Drive continues until Monday, so please feel free to bring your toy to the Merry & Bright Celebration!

The Fourth Week of Advent

As we enter into the final week of Advent, we anticipate the Birth of Our Savior! Come Lord Jesus!

As final plans are being made for Christmas, the busyness can be all consuming! Still have to shop, wrap, plan, cook, and serve? Please do not allow the "busy blur" to affect the focus on the reason for the season. While making your final plans and preparations for this beautiful holiday, please strongly consider celebrating properly the Birth of Our Lord and Savior by attending Holy Mass this Christmas. Your children will thank you!

This week's Friday Folder contains a reminder postcard with SFX Parish Mass times for your convenience. Our school community is blessed beyond measure, and even in our struggles we can find strength...

Come Lord Jesus!

As we begin to think about registration for the 2022-2023 school year, please be aware that there are some changes to the FACE application:

  • There will be a new field to include unemployment information.
  • Tax documentation requirements have changed to requiring only 2020 Federal returns and 2021 W2s. The only exception will be for those families who do not have W2 income…then the 2021 return will be required.
  • FACTS application fee will be $40 per family.

The FACE website will serve as a good resource and will continue to have updated information.

From the

Health Office:

  • If your child is going to be absent for ANY reason (health related or otherwise) please make sure to call or email the school office to let us know... thank you!
  • A new face/voice in the Nurses' Office! Mrs. Patti McEntee (Mrs. Bentley’s mom!) will be stepping in to help us as a substitute nurse. Mrs. McEntee has been an ER nurse for well over 20 years and it is a blessing that she is able and willing to step into this role. Please help me in welcoming Mrs. McEntee to our school community, and please add her email to your health office communication pmcentee@sfxacushnet.com. Thank you!

Fly on the Wall

Fr. Ryan and Fr. Jack popped in to visit our kindergartners after hearing the Christmas confessions of our older students.

Kindergarten Student: "What is confession?"

Mrs. Jason: "Whenever you make a mistake, or a bad choice, you tell a priest.

You tell the priest your sins."

Not much else was said until the Fathers were exiting the classroom and a student ran up to them and exclaimed:

"FATHER, FATHER,

I HAVE MADE BAD CHOICES!"
