Be a Family Friendly Place to Volunteer

Many volunteers have reprioritized their time over the last decade and especially after the last couple of years, which means organizations need to be set up and embrace families if they are wanting volunteers.  The bonus of embracing families now is that you are developing youth and adult leaders for the future!

Tara-Leigh Heslip is a self-proclaimed volunteer addict and family-friendly places to volunteer have been a key contributor to this passion. From dragging kids along as toddlers to working side by side with her teenagers and young adults she sees the value in giving people the opportunity to give back to their communities as a family unit. She will share ideas and resources that you can apply to your own organizations.

Date: Thursday, December 8
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

This interactive Zoom session for museum and gallery staff and volunteers builds on themes of intercultural competence, community engagement, and relationship-building, addressed in the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan’s presentation at last spring’s MAS Conference. The emphasis for this session is on participants' own experiences as we explore the success and challenges of integrating ethnocultural and newcomers organizations and individuals into museums and galleries.
