The LDSCR will be observing September 30th in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This is an opportunity for us all to exhibit our commitment toward honoring the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions of Canada's Calls to Action.
We encourage all of you to take this time to reflect upon how we as an organization and individuals can further advance Truth and Reconciliation and recognize the history and legacy of the residential school system.

September 2023 Update
Barry Brezden
Greetings, Lakeland District residents! Now that summer is coming to a close, it is up to us to keep that summer activity going, whether it be indoors or outdoors. Historically the fall and winter seasons see a huge slowdown as far as active participation is concerned. That is where we come in. We will promote physical, cultural, social, and intellectual activities all year round.
We, the SSFA, are a non-profit, volunteer-run organization throughout the province of Saskatchewan that has only one goal. That is correct, only one goal—to see people over the age of eighteen getting off the couch and becoming active in all types of events, gathering, or happenings—anything from cake decorating classes to paint nights to curling events, etc.—whatever your interests may be.
We are the Lakeland District, where there happens to be limitless opportunities. We are looking for you—we are looking for all kinds of members to take part in our events calendar. It does not matter how old you are, just as long as you are over eighteen. Please feel free to check us out on our Lakeland District Facebook page or on our provincial website. You will be surprised at what you see! Even if you do not wish to be active, check out all of our member discounts through many local businesses. You cannot possibly lose!
