WE ARE DONE ... (for now!)

WE ARE AN EASTER PEOPLE, AND ALLELUIA IS OUR SONG!

As you can imagine, the joy of the Easter season has been quite prevalent this past week, along with the joy of the arrival of April vacation ... Add the summer weather to the mix, and we feel blessed to have made it through! Our week began just as it should, as we were able to make the journey down Main Street to celebrate Christ's Resurrection together as a school family. The Mass provided a wonderful return after the long weekend, and Father's homily was quite appropriate for all. He referenced St. Josemaría Escrivá's quote,

"Be filled with hope: Jesus Christ is always victorious."

Father explained that the Resurrection provides clear confirmation of this fact as the battle over death was won! Father also reminded us that even when life seems tough or messy, and we have a tendency to get "down", not to lose hope... that Christ conquers all!

AMEN & ALLELUIA!

The beautiful reality of Easter is that we celebrate the joy of the Resurrection beyond Easter Sunday. This week we have been in the midst of the Easter Octave, which leads us to Divine Mercy Sunday, and every day has been a celebration of Easter! The season will last 50 days in total and we plan to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ to the fullest! Classes have begun the planning process for their Easter Celebration performances, and our 8th graders have plans in the works for an Easter Egg Hunt Fundraiser that will take place on the same day as our school wide celebration, which is Thursday, May 4th.

Yesterday at recess time, one of the kindergarteners exclaimed,

"Mrs. Russo, I'm so hot, I think I just got a sunburn!"

The warm weather that arrived late in the week is giving us the sense that summer is close at hand. Reality indicates that we have miles to go before we rest! Please help us to reinforce with our students that a strong finish to the school year is expected. Upon our return to school after the much needed break, we will be sending progress reports, administering MAP testing, and expecting fully engaged students in our final few months!

Have a wonderful break & God bless!
