A QUICK HELLO,
FOLLOWED BY SNOW,
BLUE FOR $2
(& prayers for Porter)
&
DR. SEUSS!
Boy... the week flew!
And just like that, in the blink of an eye, our February vacation is over and we are back to the grind! Faculty, staff and students all enjoyed the much needed winter break, and have returned rested, rejuvenated and ready to face the month of March.
The bonus snow day helped to ease reentry for certain!
As you are aware, our National Junior Honor Society has put forth a weekly schedule for school wide participation and demonstration of weekly acts of service. This week we joined forces with our local Acushnet community as we prayed for and raised funds to assist Porter Guillemette and his family. Students embraced the opportunity to dress in blue (Porter's favorite color), as an outward sign of their support, for a two dollar donation. Students also gathered to pray a decade of the rosary, either as a class or with their church buddies to lift in prayer the needs of Porter and his family, through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother.
Many of our classes engaged in fun activities this in celebration of Read Across America Week, which kicked off with Dr. Seuss's Birthday on March 2nd. From preschool projects to kindergarten crafts and from first grade reading "camp outs" to grade 4 Lorax 'staches (which actually doubled as detective gear!), our students had a great time expressing their enthusiasm and love of reading and learning this week!
Have a wonderful weekend!
