OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE,

&

FAM HOUSE FRIDAY...

And just like that we enter into the final week of Advent! The energy and enthusiasm in the building will be reaching an all time high this coming week, and we will be more than ready to release for break on Thursday!

On Monday, Father Ryan took a beautiful image of Our Lady of Guadalupe "on the road" as he visited each one of the classrooms to share Our Lady's image and the story of her apparitions in Mexico City to St. Juan Diego in December 1531. Our students were amazed at the many details that Father shared with them, and several of the classes went on to complete projects on the Virgin of Guadalupe! Tuesday quickly followed with the our monthly visit from the Maronite Sisters! Students and staff had the opportunity to Adore Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, and this month the Sisters talked about the Birth of Our Lord and preparing for Christmas!

We are thrilled to bring back our pre-COVID tradition of presenting a Nativity performance! Students will sing their hearts out as we reenact the Birth of Our Lord and Savior under the direction of our new (& wonderful) music teacher and our fantastic third grade teacher...

Thank you Mrs. Girouard and Mrs. Ferullo for sharing your time, talent and treasure with our entire school community... we look forward to celebrating together on Wednesday evening. Please read further details in Nativity block of the newsletter found below.

Thank you for your continued support and have a wonderful weekend.

Nativity Performance @ 6:30pm

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 (and middle school students who are involved)

will be expected to arrive at the school at 6pm.

Nativity Need to Knows:

  • Parking Patience- Please be advised that our parking lot will be filled to capacity, and the utmost care and caution is essential for our safety. We will be parking cars in the back playground area, and ask for your patience, especially when it is time to leave the school premises.
  • Indoor Event- The Nativity is an indoor event, and the first one we have had in a very long time. We do realize that illness has been a bit back on the rise, and therefore understand if you are unable to or decide that attendance is not possible for your family. Masks will be made available, and (depending on outdoor temperatures) doors may be left slightly ajar. The duration of the performance is approximately one hour.
  • Outdoor Portion- A brief outdoor portion of the event will take place at the conclusion of the performance, and will include a Christmas tree lighting and a Christmas carol sing along before we head home for the evening.

GO REBELS!

What a great day to be a middle school student at SFX!

The day began with FAM Houses working make final plans for the challenges for house points that would be taking place in the afternoon. Students then loaded the generously donated toys in vehicles prior to boarding the bus to head to Gifts to Give to offer a few hours of service! Cleaning, evaluating and sorting toys were among the main morning tasks, and our students got a real sense of giving of time, talent and treasure truly means. The afternoon was spent in a FAM House Challenge that included A Christmas Carol Competition and an unbelievable, nail-biting game of Knockout. Visit the Middle School Hub for House Point results from today's challenges as well as the opportunity to purchase some new FAM House Merch!

The day's final event was CMC (Campus Ministry Club) that was well attended and a total BLAST!

In the words of one particular middle schooler, as he waited for his mom to pick him up in Extended Care after CMC,

"I'M TIRED!"
