RWANDAN FUNDRAISER SUCCESS,
PRAYERS FOR VOCATIONS,
CLASSROOM VISITS,
A PD DAY FOR OUR TEACHERS
& A HOLIDAY!
A major highlight of this short week was the school's outpouring of love, generosity and support of our parish fundraiser! Father Leonard launched the "Potty Project" during our First Friday Focus assembly last week and a follow up Dress Down Day (in the Rwandan flag colors) raised over two thousand dollars for the project!
Our students' support was a huge "wave" to the needs of the Rwandan village!
National Vocations Awareness Week was highlighted by classroom visits by Father Ryan, and Adoration with the Maronite sisters! Father made appearances in many of our classrooms to read aloud a book entitled, The Unsolvable Problem by Mother Clare Mathiass, CFR and discussed with the students the call to religious life. Our monthly visit from the Maronite sisters also took place this week, and students had the opportunity to spend time Adoring Our Lord in our school gym. Students prayed for vocations, heard the sisters' call to religious life testimonies, and received a beautiful bookmark/prayer card with a "Prayer to Know God's Plan" for their lives. Father Jack Schrader from St. John Neumann Parish in East Freetown will be onsite this coming week to discuss vocations with our middle school students.
Our faculty had a productive day at Bishop Stang High School yesterday, as we "voted with our feet" to attend break out sessions on topics of interest. From MAP test score analysis to Social Emotional Learning supports, and from First Aid review to Building Classroom Communities, everyone had the opportunity to learn something new during our PD day.
Hoping that everyone enjoyed the few days off in addition to the weekend!
Thank you to all of our veterans, both those living and deceased, as well as those who currently serve our country...
God bless all of our school community veterans and God bless the USA!
