VALENTINES' DAY FUN,
APPRECIATING THE SUN,
WE ARE DONE &
VACATION HAS BEGUN!
Time for a break! Our school doors will remain closed this upcoming week for a much needed and well deserved winter reprieve. While there have been whisperings of planned trips and tropical getaways, there have been equally as many dreams of staying in pjs, drinking hot chocolate and watching movies! School vacations truly seem to be strategically placed into our calendar when, quite literally, everyone is ready for some time off!
Upon our return our school culture norms shift quite noticeably into the Holy Season of Lent. Our "normal" becomes rather different, with the absence of morning music, the addition of a new liturgical focus, and the sacrifices that we all commit to. In the classrooms and as a school, students will be focussing on prayer, fasting and almsgiving and as we fully embrace these three pillars of the Lenten season. Plans for opportunities to receive the sacrament of reconciliation, as well as engaging as a school community in the Stations of the Cross are all in the works for Lent 2023. Our National Junior Honor Society will be encouraging our school community to focus on almsgiving during each week of Lent.
I look forward to sharing the fruits of their efforts in the coming weeks.
Please take the time over the break to take a look at the contents of your child's Friday folder, as well as re-enroll your child(ren) if you have not already done so. Thank you in advance for informing us of any intentions of non-return (even preschoolers!) so that we are able to
"fill the seats".
Have a wonderful week with your families!
