WE ARE AN EASTER PEOPLE, AND ALLELUIA IS OUR SONG!

We couldn't think of a better way to re enter school after the break than to center ourselves in Christ! A beautiful Mass was celebrated first thing Monday morning to welcome back our students and staff. Our students listened intently to Father speak about one this centuries of the most beautiful saints, St. Gianna Molla. All of our students listened intently to Father tell Gianna's story of courage and selfless love.

Our middle school students who consider St. Gianna Molla their patron saint, due to their designated FAM House, celebrated her today on her Feast Day!

St. Gianna Molla... pray for us!

Tuesday was a whirlwind of activity for our middle schoolers, as they travelled to Bishop Connolly High School to join other students throughout the diocese to meet and experience dynamic youth speaker, Maggie Craig. A friend and college classmate of Father Ryan's, Maggie has travelled all over the country speaking and offering retreats to youth groups, and confirmation classes. Maggie's dynamic personality and energy kept our students engaged and attentive to her message. The theme of her talk was Adventure, and she highlighted St. John Paul II's quote that we are familiar with, "Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure!"

A few student takeaways from the experience include:

"Maggie said that we may need to step out of our comfort zone to build a relationship with God."

"Not only can you follow God and have a fun life, but most people don't ever have a fun life without God."

"The four S's (Sacrament, Service, Silence & Scripture) will help us get to heaven and have a good relationship with God."

"Through talking with God, you can develop a strong relationship with him and trust Him more."

As you can imagine, Maggie's personal favorite comment was:

"I thought this was going to be really boring... but I really liked it!"

Finally, a major highlight of the week was the opportunity for our Kindergarten and Grade 5 buddies to board a bus headed to Bishop Stang for a sneak peek of this weekend's performance of Cinderella! Our students had an absolute blast, and many came back to school looking forward to the possibility of attending the entire performance this weekend, or at the very least the Bibbidi Bobbidi Bishop Stang event tomorrow!

Come Monday, our calendars will be turned, and the month of May will be upon us.

Please keep an eye on the Dates to Know About section of the newsletter to stay informed of all of the various happenings that will lead us to the end of the school year...

the month of May will fly by!
