HAITI 180 ASSEMBLY, CAST CELEBRATION, PLAYGROUND DRAMA, & HALLWAY MATH

...A long, short week it was!

The holiday weekend seems like a distant memory as this week's 4 days were packed to the gills! MAP testing once again took the forefront of academic time for our 4th- 8th graders, and with some illness and absences in the building, we are grateful to have time next week for makeup sessions.

Tuesday was highlighted by an assembly/presentation for our 5th- 8th graders. A great talk, a plea for help and a contest launch was facilitated by Mr. Jay Hamel!

Another highlight from the week included the after school cast finale, which involved pizza and the viewing of their performance. Finally, there was some drama on the playground, as students were actually playing a game they dubbed, "The Wizard of Oz".

That's right... there were two Glindas, a scarecrow, two tin men, a few wicked witches and even Toto.

By now most of our students have completed their Winter MAP Growth Testing Session. We do have several students that are in need of make up testing due to illness/vacation/absences, and those tests will be administered next week.

As mentioned above, Jay Hamel was onsite this week to share a bit about his good friend, Sean Forrest's involvement in this wonderful organization, HAITI 180. Jay's main goal was to increase awareness and generate interest in securing donors to this worthy cause.
