A ST. JOSEPH'S KIND OF GUY,
A SCHOOL BUS FIRST TRY,
&
WAITING FOR ROCKS TO DRY!
This past week, our smallest of wonders visited one of the hardest workers in the school on the Feast of St. Joseph... our building maintenance manager! Mr. Guilotte shared with our students what it must have been like for St. Joseph and Jesus to be carpenters! He shared with them the various tools used today by carpenters and woodworkers to create beautiful items, and explained that St. Joseph and Jesus did not have such modern equipment!
Our students then extended their gratitude to Mr. Guillotte, "the worker", by presenting him with a handmade card that thanked him for "being like Saint Joseph", for "protecting our school family" and for "using his tools each day to build up our school and faith"!
Our Kindergarten through Grade 2 students ventured off campus this week to the Zeiterion Theater for a performance of Harold and the Purple Crayon. For many of the students, it was their very first school bus ride, and they were thrilled!
All three classes came back to school with a new found appreciation for Harold and his purple crayon, (as children since 1955 have had!) and students followed up by creating illustrations using Harold's favorite color!
The adventure to the Z was a wonderful outing... A special thank you to our parent chaperones!
Finally, this week's National Junior Honor Society Lenten Service project included the painting of kindness rocks for the elderly! This wonderfully heartwarming activity idea was generated by students, to be accomplished by students, to share with those who are perhaps lonely or would welcome a bit of cheer in their lives! Church buddy partners painted together the colorful creations that will be shared with residents of Autumn Glen as well as Our Lady's Haven.
Have a wonderful weekend and God bless!
