Our Master Calendar reflects a "TBD" Professional Day for our teachers...
PLEASE note that the date of this PD day has been scheduled for
Tuesday, March 16th.
There will be NO SCHOOL for students this day, so please plan accordingly. Thank you!
Let's Continue Our Journey with Jesus in the Desert!
This past week our students happily contributed to Women and Infants Hospital! NICU babies will be well taken care of, thanks to your generosity. This upcoming week, our National Junior Honor Society will "shift gears" as they promote donations to St. Luke's Children's Center. Please take the time to CLICK HERE to see the schedule of service & plan accordingly by CLICKING HERE to see a list of possible donations!

Upcoming Feast Days
The Feast of St. Patrick
Dress Down Day-
Wearing of the Green!
Staff & Students invited to a Green Dress Down Day on Wednesday, 3/17! St. Patrick classroom curriculum connections will be made as well!
The Feast of St. Joseph
In this year dedicated to St. Joseph, we will honor and pray for the intercession of the good and faithful spouse of Our Blessed Mother and the Foster Father of the Son of God!
On Friday, 3/19 a $2 Black and Blue Dress Down Day will help to support the needs of the Maronite sisters in New Bedford, and students will also be asked to offer a canned good this day, to honor the Italian tradition of feeding the hungry and offering gifts to St. Joseph for prayers answered.

Our students will visit our school grotto to offer prayers of petition and thanksgiving to St. Joseph on his feast day as well.
St. Joseph.... pray for us!
Our 8th graders are "gearing up" for some fun-draising and fun activities for our students! First up is another Guessing Jar opportunity. The Luck of the Irish will be necessary to guess the number of gold coins in the jar this St. Patty's Day!
A dollar a guess for any lads and lassies that wish to test their estimation skills!

Guessing begins on Friday, March 12th, with winner announced on the Feast of St. Patrick!
The excitement is building, as we count down to the much anticipated and long awaited:

SCHOOL MASCOT REVEAL!

Some of you may have seen Father Williams "on the blue line" holding a mysterious box this past week.
What is inside? Our MASCOT!

Next Friday, March 12th, on the anniversary of the canonization of St. Francis Xavier, we will gather (socially distanced of course) to unveil our school mascot!
Students and staff are welcome to wear SPIRIT WEAR this day, as we take our school spirit
"UP A NOTCH"!
We are so exited to share our new mascot with our school community!
The unveiling is scheduled for 10:15am on the 12th and will be live streamed on our parish FB page, accessed here.

Making plans for the kids this summer??
Consider an opportunity for your children to be exposed to the gifts & talents of our very own Mrs. Angeley during the summer months! I am sure that you all are aware of the amazing work that Mrs. Angeley is doing on a weekly basis within our school. She is teaching both Music and Art to our students, both REMOTELY and IN PERSON, and she rises to this immense challenge week after week with poise, professionalism and an amazing skill set! This summer Mrs. Angeley will be serving as director of summer programming at the Marion Art Center. She would love to see her SFX friends there! Registration information can be found here: https://www.marionartcenter.org/artstart/
and the program is for children ages 4.5-9.

Also, if there are any SFX alumnae who are interested in being counselors (ages 14-17), on that same link an application can be found. This is a paid position, so it’s a great summer job for kids who are interested in art, music, theater, and like working with kids!
