Once a year, the BC Chamber of Commerce conducts the Collective Perspective Survey to consult businesses across BC on what matters most to them, their sector, and their region .

This is arguably the most comprehensive economic survey in the province, and we want to make sure the voices of our members in Revelstoke are fully represented.

Why is this so important? Because the results of this survey are shared with government in the weeks leading up to the 2019 Budget AND the results will also help to better inform BC Chamber's advocacy efforts.
All respondents will be entered into a draw to win a $500 Air Canada gift certificate!

B.C. RURAL DEVELOPMENT
ENGAGEMENT REPORT
To inform rural development priorities, the Government of BC asked for rural BC's thoughts on topics like youth opportunities, Indigenous partnerships, services and technology, access to capital, and natural resources.

The input collected from that feedback, along with the information gathered from face-to-face sessions and key stakeholders, will help ensure government programs and services accurately reflect the needs and priorities of rural communities.
Based on this input, they have prepared a high level summary that you can read here:

Thanks to all of you who took the time to participate in the engagement process!
This information is expected to form a foundation for ongoing work
supporting rural communities.
It goes without saying that we have some amazing small businesses
in our community!
Let's make sure they know that.

Nominate your business, or a business you LOVE, for the Small Business BC Awards that recognize the outstanding achievements of BC’s entrepreneurs.

Business Owners:
Get ready for the Canada Pension Plan enhancement
In 2019, you and your employees will begin making increased contributions to the CPP . Make the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) enhancement part of your business plan.

To help your business adjust, the CPP enhancement will be phased in gradually over the next seven years. Although the contributions will increase, your payroll processes will not change; you will continue to report and remit CPP contributions in the same way and you can continue to claim a tax deduction for your contributions as an employer.

Later this year, the CRA will be providing updated payroll deduction tables and formulas to help you calculate the enhanced CPP contributions.

To learn more about the CPP enhancement and what it means for your business, go to Get your business ready for the CPP enhancement .
Did you know that our Visitor Centre team tracks the number of guests that pop in for travel advice?

We note where they are visiting from, how long they are staying in our community, what services/experiences they are looking for, and more. All to help us be better informed and able to provide an even better visitor experience!

*As of October 31st, we have welcomed 61,069 guests through our doors which is 6% more than the annual total from 2017... and we still have 2 months to go!
