FHSD Staff, Families and Community:
I am writing to let you know that a Hollenbeck Middle School employee was arrested after school yesterday.
Law enforcement officers notified the District that Daniel Ott was taken into police custody without incident, and shared their intent to charge Mr. Ott with crimes related to possession of child pornography.
Officers confirmed that there is no indication at this time that any Hollenbeck students are involved.
Mr. Ott has been employed as an assistant principal at Hollenbeck since 2024. He has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation, and will not be allowed at school or on any District property until the situation is resolved.
The safety of our students is our highest priority. This is an extremely serious matter and we understand that the Hollenbeck community has a vested interest in the outcome.
Please understand that the District is limited in the information it can share right now due to this being an ongoing investigation. The District will be cooperating with law enforcement to the fullest extent possible to ensure the safety of our students.
