We are thankful for our ELCA Family!
Have a safe and blessed Christmas break.
Preschool and elementary students may be checked out after the Christmas Program on Friday, 18. Grades 5 through 12 are dismissed at 10:00AM for Christmas Break.

Students return on Tuesday, January 5.
Current Parents, share this news with your like-minded friends and neighbors so that they may learn more about the difference of Kingdom Education.

Remember, ELCA parents can earn up to a $500 tuition credit for each new student referred. We make it easy with PPRs.

PTF would like to thank all the volunteers that helped to make the Christmas Shoppe a successful event. It is always a fun time for the students to shop for the special people in their lives. A special thank you to our coordinators of the Christmas Shoppe, Lakia Hill and Shannon Powell. PTF appreciates all of your hard work and dedication to creating such a special event for the students. Wishing you all a safe and healthy holiday season.
Not a creature was stirring...
(well, maybe a preschooler or two)
If you dropped by on Tuesday, December 8, you may have spotted Mr. Gilliam reading the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke and explaining the real meaning of Christmas to all of our preschool students. Priceless!
Up and Coming Thespian
Sixth grader, Raja Greene-Horne splendidly depicted the title character in a recent production of "The Wiz." TDF Studio Gym hosted two presentations on November 7. We can't wait to see more of Raja on stage as he grows.

Operation Christmas Child
Over sixty SGA students volunteered at the Atlanta Processing Center for Operation Christmas Child. Helping to spread the gospel to the nations as the Great Commission urges, students helped package the boxes, remove hazardous items, and helped track boxes that were being sent to Côte d'Ivoire and the Republic of Congo.

It was a special day of volunteering because the group witnessed the one-millionth box being sent out! From just the Atlanta Processing Center in Lawrenceville, the goal is to mail out 2 million boxes.

Thank you to all the ELCA families and students who donated items to bring joy to children all around the world. As a school, we collected at least 1,000 boxes for Operation Christmas Child!
Lunch n' Learn Kickoff
The Lunch n' Learn series gives students an opportunity to hear about leadership in the 21st century. On December 3rd, the series was launched with guest speaker Casey Wang (Class of 2016). Eighth-grade Beta Club members and SGA high school students heard first-hand the opportunities Casey has experienced beyond ELCA; from local and international internships, earning a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and
being accepted to Harvard Law School.

While Casey's academic achievements are remarkable, she expressed humility in her stories of developing grit, resilience, and a focus on her relationship with Christ. We are so proud of you, Casey!

Many thanks to The Hotdog Co. for sponsoring the luncheon!
Cultural Book Club Launch
Using books to promote cultural competence, students and faculty/staff held separate conversations over the first cultural book club read - Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann.

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, which is held in November, this book was chosen to highlight the mysterious murders of the Osage Indian community in Oklahoma in the 1920s. With these unsolved investigations leading to the birth of the FBI, students and staff candidly shared their own cultural experiences, while gaining insight from other perspectives. Any high school student and staff/faculty member may join the conversation with our spring 2021 book choice. To sign up, please contact Grace Lee
So Good, We Have to Say it Again

ELCA’s ACT and SAT scores for the class of 2020 were, once again, above the state and national averages.

ELCA’s ACT average for the class of 2020 was a 23.3 compared to the state’s 21.7 and the nation’s 20.6.

The class of 2020’s SAT average was 1139 compared to the state’s 1053 and the nation’s 1051.

All scores are based on 2020 high school graduates who took the ACT and/or SAT some time from grades 10 to 12.

Even though 2020 was a difficult school year, the percentage of students who exceeded the average scores is a testament to the work and dedication of both teachers and students performance each day in the classroom.
