Greetings!

Happy Friday! I was happy to be with our Orange County community this week. I am also writing to you today on the 32nd anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The Chinese Communist Party continues to crack down on those who are still fighting for their freedoms. Today we honor and remember those who were killed 32 years ago and renew our commitment to fighting for freedom and democracy around the world.

Here are some highlights from my week:

Honoring Memorial Day Weekend
This past Monday we honored and observed Memorial Day – a time to honor those who gave all for our freedoms. I was grateful to attend events in Seal Beach and Fountain Valley to honor our fallen soldiers. God bless our service members and their families.

Increasing Transparency and Accountability
Union members deserve honesty about where their dues are going. Unfortunately, there is a long history of union bosses using money from American workers for lavish personal expenses. This corruption is unacceptable and is anti-worker. The Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act needs to be strengthened to better protect the millions of workers who are forced to pay union dues to keep their jobs. That’s why I was proud to introduce H.R. 3640 this week to ensure labor organizations are not abusing their members’ hard-earned money.
Responding to Biden's $6 Trillion Budget
Last week, President Biden released his $6 trillion budget proposal. His proposal would raise taxes, make paychecks smaller, and skyrocket the debt to its highest since World War II. After more than a year of economic instability and struggling job numbers, the last thing American families need is higher taxes and trillions in spending. We should be working to create a balanced, sustainable budget that will not burden our children and grandchildren with debt for generations to come.
