Upon transitioning into full-time caregiving after retiring from work in 2021, one community caregiver shared their experience caring for their mother using lessons learned from Keiro's Caregiver Conference and life experiences.

As we prepare for our 2023 Caregiver Conference, here is a look back at what our last in-person conference in 2019 had to offer!

Do you know a caregiver or family member who would like to learn more about in-home care from licensed professionals? Keiro is partnering with TheKey to provide FREE two-hour educational training sessions in the convenience of your own home.

Training session sign-ups will open on Monday, February 27, 2023, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is only one more week to register for the Caregiver Conference scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023! Registration will close on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Registration is required to attend. Capacity will be limited, and on a first-come, first-served basis.

When caring for a loved one, the first steps include identifying what to do. However, how to get these things done is where the challenge for family caregivers often lies. In these situations, “I” statements can be a very powerful communication method.

In October 2022, Keiro launched the Quality of Life classes, which focus on key characteristics Keiro has defined as contributing to one’s quality of life.
Join one of our two feedback sessions in the month of March to help us evaluate, assess, and continue to improve upon this program. We will resume the Quality of Life classes in April with presentations on Security.

In November 2022, Keiro launched our Giving Tuesday campaign to raise funds to deliver engaging, calming, and entertaining activities to help older adults affected by memory impairments.
We are happy to report that thanks to your generous contributions to Giving Tuesday, we have delivered over 500 items to Iyashi Care patients and four residential care facilities. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we have more deliveries happening in the coming weeks!

We encourage everyone to share these safety tips with your neighbors and friends. We should not have to be fearful when going out but we do need to remain vigilant.
