A Spotlight on Obon Festival Volunteers

Many Obon Festival attendees may not realize the behind-the-scenes contributions made by volunteers. Keiro interviewed Phyllis, 71, who has been volunteering at Obon food booths for close to 30 years, and continues to find great joy in serving her temple community.

Tuesday, October 10 | 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.


Join us in person as we explore historic First Street on an interactive guided tour. *Please note this will be a 60-minute walking tour of Little Tokyo. Attendance will be limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional details to follow upon completing registration.

Preparing ourselves for an ER visit can add some stability and reassurance to hopefully make it a manageable experience. Join us as we hear from an Emergency Medicine doctor, Jaclyn Matsuura, on how to prepare for an ER visit.

As the summer heat slowly winds down, vaccination season is just around the corner. In addition to the usual flu shot, there are two more vaccines to consider getting this fall: the new COVID-19 vaccine and the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine.
