"Kelowna MHA is excited to partner with BC Hockey to bring teams from elite programs in Western Canada and the United States for the Major Midget, Minor Midget and Major Bantam AAA Okanagan Classics," said Kelowna MHA representative, Steve Smith. "We look forward to hosting these teams, watching some exciting hockey and seeing top teams measure them self against other top programs they don't normally get to play."
The Okanagan Major Bantam Classic will feature the Grant Sheridan Skills Competition, brought to you by Peacock Sheridan. The event will feature five (5) players (4 skaters, 1 goalie) from each team that will participate in four (4) events; Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot, Skills Challenge Relay and a Shootout.
The event will feature an in-house and on-ice host along with live video/replay.

Sponsors of the individual events will be released closer to the event which will feature great prizing for first, second and third in each event.

The Grant Sheridan Skills Competition is on January 31, 2020 at 5:30pm at the Capital News Centre.

"We wanted to do something special to remember Grant and his work in the Okanagan with hockey teams players and programs over many years. Grant touched so many lives including many players he coached and trained that will be playing in these tournaments," commented BC Hockey Okanagan Zone Lead, Rob Evers.

"The Okanagan Major Bantam Classic will be our flagship tournament for many years coming and it made sense to honour Grant's memory as we strive to continue his work of growing hockey in the Okanagan, creating exposure and moving players on to the next level," Evers added.
