Kennesaw State heads to Western Kentucky for still another midweek matchup on Wednesday, October 30, at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.

This will be the second straight week that the Owls take on the #1 team in Conference USA after their stunning 24-21 victory over Liberty.

Kennesaw State enters with a challenging 1-6 record in their inaugural FBS season. Despite their struggles, the Owls are coming off a monumental upset victory over Liberty, which has breathed new life and energy into their campaign. It marked KSU’s first-ever victory over an FBS program in 11 attempts.

WKU, on the other hand, boasts a solid 5-2 record and are one of only two undefeated teams in Conference USA play. They’ve shown consistency and are looking to maintain their position at the top of the conference standings.

KSU’s shocking 27-24 victory over previously undefeated Liberty was a season-defining moment. This win demonstrated the team’s potential and resilience, especially considering they entered the game as significant underdogs.

This game holds significant implications for the Conference USA standings. The Hilltoppers are one of the two undefeated teams in conference play and looking to hold on to their new spot at the top. A win for Kennesaw State could shake up the conference hierarchy and potentially impact the race for the conference championship.

Watch Head Coach Brian Bohannon's Weekly Press Conference Previewing CUSA Game At Western Kentucky

Obviously, we're playing another really good football team that's in the hunt for the Conference USA championship every year.

i forget how many years in a row they've been to a bowl game. I think its five or six. Coach Helton does a great job.

They've won a lot of games. They've lost two games this year. They lost to Alabama and they lost to Boston College. That's it.

I think he's been around about six years and they've maybe lost eleven conference games.

Seems like every week now, they get a week off before they play us. Liberty had a week off.

Another big conference game at home. Really excited about the opportunity to play Kennesaw State.

They look like a very impressive football team. A very hungry team.

Obviously, had a big win against Liberty.

As I've had a chance to watch them throughout the season, you can tell they're a well coached team. So, we need to play our best football. We need a championship mentality. Should be a great atmosphere...got a lot going on on campus. So, it should be a good game.

Rivera and Bernal Collect Program's First CUSA Weekly Awards...

Visit Jax State Saturday

For the first time in program history, Kennesaw State earned Conference USA weekly awards with Tianna Rivera winning offensive and Charlee Bernal winning goalkeeper of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Although it's Rivera's first CUSA award, she has accrued five combined conference honors between CUSA and the Atlantic Sun Conference. It's the graduate's third player of the week award in her career.

In the match versus FIU, she nabbed one goal and two assists earning four points, the highest total of the season of any individual Owl. Her four point performance showcased a career high over her five seasons. The forward notched her sixth goal of the season, tying the team lead with Macie Rainwater. The goal signified Rivera's fourth career game-winning goal and 16th total score. She is not only tied for the team lead in goals but has spearheaded the Owl attack with four assists, the most on the team.
