>>Kennesaw State will close out its home slate at Fifth Third Stadium on Saturday, November 22, with a high-stakes Conference USA clash against Missouri State. Both teams carry 7-3 overall records and 5-1 league marks, making this matchup pivotal for the CUSA title race and bowl positioning.
>>The Owls come into their Senior Day looking to bounce back from a 35-26 loss at Jacksonville State that snapped a seven-game win streak. Head coach Jerry Mack has urged his team to keep their focus.
>>“It’s all about how you respond,” Mack said this week. “This group has shown resilience all year, and finishing strong at home is what we’re aiming for.”
>>Quarterback Amari Odom will be central to that effort; Odom has thrown for over 1,500 yards and accounted for 13 total touchdowns this season but will look to rebound after a tough outing last week that included three game changing interceptions.
>>“This is a team that believes in one another and knows what’s at stake,” Mack added. “Missouri State is physical and well-coached. We have to match their energy and execute our game plan—especially on third downs and in the red zone.”
>>KSU boasts one of Conference USA’s top scoring defenses and is averaging 31.2 points per game in league play, while Odom’s versatility as a passer and runner provides a spark.
>>On the other sideline, the Bears ride momentum from a 38-24 win over UTEP and boast significant balance on offense. Saturday’s contest will not only decide crucial conference positioning, but also serve as a chance for Kennesaw State’s seniors—and their home fans—to leave a lasting mark on the 2025 season.

>>“We’re excited about getting back on our home field and playing in front of our fans,” Mack said. “Missouri State is a tough opponent, and we know this game is crucial for us as we continue to chase our goals this season.”
>>“We’re still hungry. You know, we still have not reached exactly where we feel like we can be as a football team,” Mack said, addressing reporters. “It’s great to be bowl eligible. That is one of the standards that we wanted. That’s our first goal first and foremost.”
>>“Missouri State will test us in many ways. Winning the line of scrimmage and taking care of the football are going to be key. We have to be sharp on both sides of the ball.”
Looking ahead, Mack rallied his team and fans alike to bring energy and determination. “We want to make a statement on our home turf and keep building momentum.”

>>“We’re aware of the challenge ahead,” Beard said. “Kennesaw State is playing some of their best football right now, and they have a lot to play for. We’ve got to bring our best effort, energy, and discipline if we want to come away with a win.”
>>He stressed the significance of starting fast and maintaining intensity. “Starting strong and matching their physicality is going to be key. We don’t want to play catch-up in a hostile environment. Every possession counts.”
>>On how he prepares the team mentally for a tough road environment, Beard said, “We talk a lot about embracing the challenge. Road games are tough. The noise, the atmosphere—it’s all part of it. We’ve got to stay locked in and play our game regardless of where it is.”
>>“We respect Kennesaw State, but we believe in our preparation and our guys. We’re coming ready to compete, and we know it’s going to be a battle.”

>>Latazia Williamson had a career afternoon with 20 points as Kennesaw State women's basketball held on against ETSU, 64-63, at Brooks Gymnasium in Johnson City, Tennessee.
>>The Memphis transfer had a career-high 20 points with 5 rebounds to lead the Owls (2-1). Keyarah Berry (14 points and 8 rebounds) and Trynce Taylor (8 points and 12 rebounds) both had near double-doubles.
>> It also marked the 50th career win for head coach Octavia Blue at KSU.
>> "That game was definitely a nail biter," said Blue. "It's tough to win on the road, so it was great to come out with a W. ETSU is a pressing team and they stalled us in the first half and caused us to be sloppy."

| Quarterfinal Preview: Owls Volleyball Faces Sixth-Seed Jax State Friday | |
>>Kennesaw State Volleyball opens play in the 2025 Conference USA Tournament as the third seed, and will take on sixth-seed Jacksonville State on Friday at 7 p.m. in quarterfinal action from the campus of FIU in Miami. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
>>The Owls come into the tournament as winners of nine of their last 11 games, including a road sweep at New Mexico State last weekend that moved KSU up into a tie for third place in the conference with FIU. Thanks to the Owls' season sweep over the Panthers, KSU won the tiebreaker to earn the third seed.
>>Jax State won three of its last four games to secure their spot in the tournament. The two teams have become very familiar with each other, having competed against each other in the Atlantic Sun before moving over to CUSA.
>>The Owls have dominated the overall series though, with a commanding 10-3 lead that includes a seven-game win streak. That Owls won both games this season, a 3-1 win on Oct. 17, and a 3-0 sweep on Oct. 18, with both games being played in Kennesaw.
>>The two teams have met twice before in postseason play. As the sixth-seed, KSU claimed a 3-2 win over the third-seed Gamecocks in the 2022 ASUN Quarterfinals, while in the 2021 tournament, Jax State squeaked out a 3-2 victory in the semifinal round. That also marked the last time the Gamecocks claimed a win over KSU.
>>The Owls have made the semifinals of a conference tournament in ten straight years (once in CUSA, nine straight years in the ASUN), and will be looking to make it 11 straight with a win over the Gamecocks.

| Owls Handed First Loss of Season by South Florida | |
>>Kennesaw State could not overcome a poor shooting performance in the first half, despite a big run to close within five in the second half, as the Owls suffered their first loss of the season, 108-89 on Sunday afternoon from VyStar Arena. Both teams moved to 3-1 after the contest, which was being playing in honor of the late Amir Abdur-Rahim, the former coach for both schools.
>>The Owls went into halftime down 56-41 after connecting on just two of 16 attempts from three-point range. KSU also struggled at the line for the second straight game, hitting 25-of-39 for 64%. USF meanwhile attempted 46 total free throws and made 38 for 83%.
