Dear KMS Bomber Nation,
I hope this message finds you well and that your family is enjoying a positive start to the school year. Each day, I am inspired by the energy, curiosity, and kindness our students bring into the building. It is truly a privilege to watch them settle in to our learning community, grow, learn, and support one another.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership. Your involvement and encouragement make a powerful difference in creating a welcoming environment where every child can thrive. Together, we are building not only strong academic foundations but also a culture of respect, responsibility, and joy in learning.
Have a great weekend!
P.S.- Don't be shy about participating in the Tressel Challenge Activities with your child!

Kenston Schools will participate from September 15 to 19 in Start With Hello Week, a national campaign created by Sandy Hook Promise to promote inclusion, connection, and a sense of belonging among students. The goal is to reduce social isolation and support youth mental health by ensuring that all students feel seen, heard, and valued within their school communities.
Throughout the week, each building will host a variety of activities designed to foster a welcoming environment. These small, simple, and supportive actions can make a meaningful difference and help create a more connected and compassionate school culture.

Kenston Local Schools held its annual school bus evacuation drill at the beginning of the school year, reinforcing the District’s commitment to student safety and preparedness. The drill, which is required by state law, was conducted across all school buildings with participation from students, bus drivers, staff, and in conjunction with our local First Responders.
The evacuation drill provided an opportunity to practice exiting the bus quickly, safely, and in an orderly manner if needed. Bus drivers provided step-by-step instructions, and students practiced exiting from both the front and rear doors and moving to a place of safety 100 feet away from the bus. Kenston’s transportation team also reviewed key safety tips with students, including proper bus behavior, crossing procedures, and the importance of staying seated while the bus is in motion.

We understand that parking at times can be congested; however, fire lanes are designated areas meant to be kept clear for emergency vehicles. These lanes must be available for emergency vehicles so they can respond quickly in case of an emergency. Blocking a fire lane can delay emergency response and endanger lives.
We ask that you always look for signage or curb markings and avoid stopping in fire lanes for any reason unless directed by emergency personnel.
| | A message from the Geauga County Library - Bainbridge Location | | |
The Geauga County Library, Bainbridge Location, is an excellent resource where students can study after school. The start of school is a good time to review the rules with your student to ensure they understand the behavior expectations set forth by the Library.

UpSTANDers RISE to Bomber Beliefs at KMS
What is an UpSTANDer? - An “upstander” is a person
who acts to make positive change.
At Kenston Middle School, we are looking for students to support our R.I.S.E. Behavior Program by creating a positive school climate and inclusive culture where all students can succeed.
The PBIS Committee - with the help of teachers and staff would like to recognize students going above and beyond in their actions to create positive change and a positive climate. Students will be given UpSTANDer cards by the staff when staff members see students exemplifying one or more of the following characteristics in the middle school - Respect, Positive Attitude, Inclusive, Leadership, Engaged, Responsibility, and Safety.
We want to acknowledge our students for their good efforts and we hope students will feel a sense of pride and a connection to their school. Students should take their cards home to show their family. Also, students can choose to be entered into a weekly drawing to receive an UpSTANDer reward by scanning the QR Code on the front of their card.
Congratulations to our recent UpSTANDers
