Dear Kenston Community,
I wanted to inform you, with as much notice as possible, of an upcoming change in our school calendar. Thanksgiving break will be extended this year by one additional day. On Monday, December 2nd, there will be no school for students as our dedicated staff participates in a professional development day.
The staff will be engaging in an important day of professional development focused on cultural humility and the acceptance of differences. At Kenston, we are committed to creating a learning environment where every student feels valued, understood, and safe. This day will allow our teachers and staff to deepen their understanding and develop practical strategies that foster respect, empathy, and inclusion within our classrooms and school community.
Our goal is to ensure that we are equipping our educators with the knowledge and skills to better understand and celebrate the diversity within our schools, and to encourage students to do the same. By investing in this work, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community together.
