2022 Kentlands Community Survey

The Kentlands Board of Trustees has engaged with Zogby Analytics to assist the KCA in the preparation of our 2022 Community Survey.
The survey has been prepared to solicit citizen input on questions, which will help the Board of Trustees and management support the needs of the community.

Your participation and involvement are critical. Your participation in this community survey will help the elected Board of Trustees better understand the community’s needs, desired areas of improvement, and potential new amenities.
The survey will close on Sunday, June 12th at 11:59 pm EST.

Updated Lap Swim Schedule

During a recent Board of Trustees meeting, the Board
voted to change the Lap Pool's resident usage
during the scheduled Kentlands Kingfish swim season.
Under the new policy, non-Kingfish swimmers
will be restricted from the use of Lap Pool lanes
during the hours of 8 AM - 12 NOON and 4 PM - 7 PM.

Swimmers that would like to use lap lane(s)
during the scheduled Kentlands Kingfish practice times are encouraged to use the lap lanes in the Social Pool.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email the
management staff at [email protected].
We thank you for your support and understanding.
Electronic Facilities Passes (EFPs)

Electronic facilities passes grant residents access to Kentlands amenities such as the Pool, Courts, and Fitness Center.

EFPs do not need to be renewed on an annual basis if your lease and driver's license on file are valid.

Residents that have not received an EFP, or have lost it and require a replacement, should contact the Clubhouse at 301.948.2071.
Extended Hours for EFP Appointments

Saturday May 14, 11:00 AM – 1:45 PM
Monday, May 16, 7:00 AM – 8:45 PM

The Kentlands Clubhouse staff is offering extended hours for our residents and their children 10 years and older that are unable to obtain their EFPs (Electronic Facilities Passes) during regular business hours (M-F, 9 AM - 4:45 PM).

An appointment is required to obtain EFPs during extended hours. Appointments are also encouraged during regular business hours to prevent wait times and ensure all residents receive a personal and professional experience.

Do NOT wait to get your EFPs, whether you lost yours and need a replacement ($30, cash, or credit) or you are new to getting one. A photo will be taken.

Call the Clubhouse M-F, 9 AM - 4:45 PM at 301-948-2071 to schedule your appointment!
One complimentary 2022 Ten-Punch Guest Pass may be picked up and signed for only by Titleholders and Lessees if you have not already. One punch covers your guest's $3 daily fee to the Fitness Center or Pool. No appointment is needed to pick up a 2022 Guest Pass.
All residents and guests must have a signed Kentlands Citizens Assembly Waiver on file to use facilities (including the pool) and attend events. Residents 18 years and older must be on their own individual waiver and anyone 17 years and younger must be on their parent's waiver. If you have not completed a Waiver, please complete the following electronically.

Be sure a Reference # (located at the top) was assigned to each processed waiver. This Reference # assures the waiver was electronically submitted and received.

Bird Scooter Pilot Program

The City of Gaithersburg is participating in the Montgomery County Dockless Vehicle-Sharing Demonstration Project. The County program allows selected companies to deploy dockless e-scooters at no cost to the municipality, while users pay a rental fee for them. In the coming weeks e-scooters will be available in four locations: near the train stations in both Olde Towne & Metropolitan Grove, in the Kentlands commercial district, and in the vicinity of Crown and Washingtonian.

In June 2019, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) introduced the dockless e-scooter program to geographically defined areas in the east and west portions of the County. The City of Gaithersburg agreed to participate in the program in 2020.

The company deploying e-scooters in Gaithersburg is Bird. Through the Bird smartphone app, riders can see the closest Bird scooter on a map, unlock it, complete a safety tutorial, and ride to their destination. It costs $1 to start, then a per minute fee is applied. Safety and educational information is available here.

Montgomery County Rules for Dockless E-Scooter Sharing:
  • Must be 18 or older to rent an e-scooter.
  • Must show a valid driver’s license.
  • E-Scooters can only be parked within the specified east and west geographic areas.
  • Riders will not be able to end their trip outside the service area.
  • Speed limit for e-scooters is 15 mph.
  • E-Scooters are prohibited from all sidewalks and on streets where the speed limit is 50 mph or higher.
  • E-Scooters must be parked in the public right of way and cannot interfere with traffic operations, block driveway access, crosswalks, ADA ramps, pedestrian access, bus stop, fire hydrants or impede access to private property or businesses. For proper ways to park an e-scooter, watch this video.
  • E-Scooter companies require that riders wear a helmet when riding.

While the e-scooter program is being allowed to operate within the City of Gaithersburg, the program is administered by Montgomery County.

Residents concerned about the location of parked e-scooters should contact Montgomery County Commuter Services at 240-777-8380 or Bird at [email protected]. Learn more about the Montgomery County Dockless Vehicle-Sharing Demonstration Project here.

We also are looking for volunteers to help with media, organizing events, fundraising and more.

We Need Members!

Good news! There are tickets available for Kentlands Film Society’s last movie of the season, Tel Aviv on Fire. It will be shown on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 7:00 PM in the Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Rd. Doors open at 6:15 PM. Tickets cost $10 per person. And there will be a Critic’s Corner after the movie. Please contact [email protected] to reserve a ticket or for more information. Don’t let the film’s title throw you off.

Tel Aviv on Fire is a comedy that crosses borders and breaks boundaries. Salam, a young, inexperienced Palestinian, becomes a writer on a popular soap opera after a chance meeting with an Israeli soldier who gives him story ideas. His creative career is on the rise until the soldier and the show’s financial backers disagree about how the show should end and Salam is caught in the middle. Thoughtful and well-acted, Tel Aviv on Fire proves it’s possible to find humor in the midst of cultural conflict.
