Grant Awarded
Thank you to the United Breast Cancer Foundation for awarding Kentucky CancerLink with $4000 to help provide assistance for treatment, wigs and transportation for Kentucky breast cancer patients!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Carol Capps and her amazing group!! They raised $10,000 for Kentucky CancerLink at their Pink Ribbon Walk in Calvert City, KY!!

We have such gratitude for the awesome support that will provide resources to to breast cancer patients in the western part of the Commonwealth!

18th Annual Women's Wellness Day hosted by the Madison County Breast Cancer Support Group
Melissa attended this great annual event focusing on women's health issues as a whole. She had the opportunity to speak to the many ladies in attendance about the programs provided by Kentucky CancerLink as well the Kentucky Women's Cancer Screening Program offered through their local health department.
Mamm's Day Out!
30 women screened on Saturday, 10/27!
KCL is so thankful for our partnership with UK Markey Cancer Center and Outreach Director, Melissa Hounshell! Mamm's Day Out is a great free Saturday screening for those in need of a mammogram! The event took place on Saturday, 10/27 with 30 women receiving screening mammograms!

Colon Cancer Screening with 'Talking Card' Pilot Program
Kentucky CancerLink is pleased to partner with Kentucky Cancer Consortium, Kentucky Cancer Program, American Cancer Society and the UK Markey Cancer Center for a Pilot Program adding in a 'Talking Card' as an educational tool for completing the OC Light Colon Cancer Screening FIT Kit. We hope to prove that the talking card is a great addition to our current navigation program to help with compliance in completing and returning the kits.

Where are you from? I am from Kumasi, Ghana, but I live in Richmond, KY.

Where and what are you studying? Public Health, Eastern Kentucky University

What is a future career goal? To be a public health advocate for underdeveloped counties and also help people achieve their fitness goals.

What do you enjoy most about Lexington? I like the diversity in Lexington and its multicultural restaurants.
