Farmers encouraged to apply for new
agricultural exemption number

FRANKFORT (Dec. 8, 2021) – Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Ryan Quarles is reminding agricultural producers about the upcoming deadline to apply for Kentucky’s new agriculture exemption number. The deadline to apply for current farmers is Jan. 1, 2022.

“As the new rules take effect next year, we don’t want our Kentucky agriculture producers to be caught off guard,” Commissioner Quarles said. “With inflation and supply chain issues affecting farm input costs, now is the time to get for farmers to get their new exemption number so they can protect the sales and use tax exclusions available to them.”

EDEN SHALE FARM UPDATE - NOVEMBER 2021

Between three different open house field days, a high school FFA group, a college animal science class, and the Ag Development Board staff, we have hosted a total of 300 people in the last 90 days. I want to thank everyone who has attended an event at Eden Shale this year. It has been good to get to see folks at the farm again..." (excerpt from 11/31 blog post)
