ASAE announced that NSNA Director of Governance and Policy, Kenya D. Williams, MSN, RN, HSM, has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE
®
) designation from the CAE Commission of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry. Less than five percent of all association professionals have achieved this mark of excellence.
To be designated as a Certified Association Executive, an applicant must have experience with nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management, and pledge to uphold a code of ethics.
"I am deeply honored to receive this designation,” Williams commented. “The commitment to excellence in association management is something I regard highly. I am humbled and excited to join the CAE community!” To maintain the CAE, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management. More than 4,400 association professionals currently hold the CAE credential. The National Commission accredits the CAE Program for Certifying Agencies.
