This month I represented KVEO at the Africa Agenda’s 9th Annual Africa Summit in Denver, Colorado. Over 100 Coloradans gathered to address challenges facing both African nations and Colorado. Members are involved with various organizations that support different African countries and the Africans who now live in Colorado.
Round table discussions focused on harnessing our collective knowledge and concerns to work together to improve lives in both Africa and the United States.
Fortunately, several local International Rotary Members attended the summit. Rotary committees are deeply involved in issues affecting communities like Shitungu, including malaria eradication and WASH initiatives focused on water, sanitation, and hygiene.
One WASH representative with experience working in Kenya has agreed to help guide KVEO in introducing latrines to the village of Shitungu — a critical step toward improving public health and sanitation.
With your continued support, KVEO hopes to move this important project forward in the coming months.
