Empowering Dreams, Building Futures

November 24,2025

Dear Friends

A thriving community starts with the basics: zero hunger, access to health care, and opportunities for education and economic stability. Only when theses fundamental needs are met, can attention be directed on working towards lasting improvements.

Thanks to your generous support, the people of Shitungu have enjoyed some relief from the daily pressures of survival and wisely invested in lasting improvements for their families. Your partnership with the Kenya Village Empowerment Organization (KVEO) ensures that the families of Shitungu are empowered to build a stable future.

Hunger Food & Improved Farming Methods

This year brought a good harvest, allowing the community to redirect two months of food-supplement funds toward long-term solutions. Families invested in vertical farming methods to extend the growth of produce. Many families were able to purchase animals—assets that provide both nourishment and income. Your gifts help ensure that 120 people have security throughout the year.

Education: Tuition Fees Will Soon be Due

The Shitungu community knows that education is the key to ending the cycle of poverty. KVEO raises funds throughout the year to provide tuition assistance for all (68) students from pre-school through high school. With your help, we hope to expand our support to include adults pursuing additional education and for the village’s college students. Your donation means that next semester fees will be covered. Every dollar helps.

Health: First Aid Trainees Build Self-Reliance

The pictured community members recently completed first-aid training and will be a great resource in case of accidents and medical emergencies. KVEO had mailed blood pressure cuffs, thermometers and other supplies not easily available in Kenya to stock the village’s first aid closet. This self reliance is an initial defense against the shortage of healthcare workers and limited access to medical care due to the ceased operations of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). These cuts have left Kenyan families with fewer healthcare workers, limited access to medicines, and higher costs for medical care. Your support will contribute to a new fund to help cover emergency medical costs.

Economic Stability: Growing the Soap Production

Shitungu’s soap-making project continues to expand, increasing both production and distribution. This small business is becoming a vital source of income for families, proving that modest investments can create durable economic progress. Because of your support and that bountiful harvest, the villagers were able to invest in safety measures and increased production.

Your partnership is the catalyst for real change. Thank you!
