Official Popcorn Fundraiser Newsletter of the
Cradle of Liberty Council, BSA
VOLUME 9 | October 15, 2018
You're receiving this newsletter because your unit has signed-up to participate in the Popcorn Fundraiser this year or in previous years. If you are no longer involved and don't want to receive the Kernel Connection, please scroll to the bottom of this email to update your profile or unsubscribe. Please note that if you unsubscribe, you will no longer receive any communications through the council's Constant Contact account.

Thank you for all you do to help fund Scouting Adventures!
Transfers & Returns Through the Popcorn System
The Trail's End Popcorn System allows units to easily transfer product to one another and indicate product returns to the council.
Try the new transfer feature through the Popcorn System rather than using the hardcopy form. It's so much easier! Please note, if you use a hardcopy form to indicate a transfer, please don't also use the online feature (and vice-versa). We don't want to double-book transfers.
Have product that you know you'll be returning? Please use the Popcorn System unit returns feature in advance of rebalance day. It will make the process smoother on Oct. 27! If there's a need for the product prior to the 27th, we may contact you to arrange picking-up your excess ahead of time.
New Scout Champions Program
Scouts who sell $1,000 or more (including online sales!) will get an invite to a special Dave & Buster's Experience! Scouts selling $1,500 or more will also receive Amazon gift cards.

The event is scheduled for January 19, 2019 at the Penn's Landing Philadelphia location from 11 AM to 4 PM.

In order to qualify, Scouts (or parent of) are required to register a Trails-End.com account so the unit coordinator can enter face-to-face sale amounts in the Trail’s End Scout tracking system. Watch the instructional video here.
Unit Commissions for Online Sales
All unit commissions for online popcorn sales through August 31, 2018 were credited to unit custodial accounts last week. A list of those units and the amounts are below. Unit commissions for online sales from September 1 to December 1, 2018 will be placed in unit custodial accounts by mid-December, and this practice will be done quarterly going forward.

In a change from previous years, we've made the decision to not credit your traditional sales invoice with online sales this fall. This simplifies the process and makes it less confusing. Online sales still count toward prize levels and bonus incentives, like the new Scout Champions Program.
