Tripp has nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her role. Her most recent position was the tourism and hospitality marketing director for Sutherland Weston Marketing Communications in Bangor, ME where she worked to grow a division dedicated to the tourism industry. Previously, she was the executive director for the Greater Bangor Convention & Visitors Bureau for 15 years where she managed partnerships with programs in Maine and Atlantic Canada, and represented Greater Bangor, The Maine Highlands, and New England at various trade and industry events.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kerrie to Discover New England as someone who is knowledgeable of and respected throughout the region,” DNE Executive Director Michele Cota said. “She knows the organization and the region well and will be a great asset in increasing domestic and international travel and tourism to New England.”
Tripp is currently working toward a Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, ME.
“The best part of working in tourism in New England is supporting the vibrant communities that visitors love. I have long respected the work of DNE, and I look forward to working throughout the region with businesses and organizations as we collaborate in promoting New England to the rest of the world,” stated Tripp.
Tripp lives in Bangor, ME with her husband and enjoys outdoor adventures like kayaking and snowshoeing. As a dedicated community member, she has volunteered at organizations including the American Folk Festival and Maine Sports Commission.
