Helpful things to point out

  • Timing updates are dependent on cell service working well. Caution that it may be slower than true live. Let your family/crew know so they do not get worried about you.

  • If you are dropping from the race make sure an aid station volunteers sends in your bib number as a dropped runner. If you forget and leave the course please text 815-261-2667.

  • Be sure to look at spreadsheets and Aid station page of website for your race details. Veteran runners- we will make changes that are helpful to the State Park and the local community when needed.

  • Drop bags: available at Nordic, McMiller, Hwy 67 and Hwy 12.

  • Drop bags will leave Nordic at 7 am on Saturday to be delivered.

  • Please carpool to start line.

  • No Crew Access at Bluff aid station until 6pm. Strictly enforced.

  • Remind your crew to park responsibly. This is crucial to our ability to continue to have crew access aid stations.

  • There is a horse event going on near our race trails. Speak if you see them- a silent human is a deadly human according to a horse.

  • To help reduce the possibility of horse/people interaction we are working with DNR to put Horseriders aid station a little bit before where it has been in the past. It is still a no crew access aid station. You will arrive to this station approximately a half mile early your first time through. We are measuring it on Tuesday and will update the mileage on website and spreadsheets.

Click on the distance you are running or crewing to see a spreadsheet specific for your race.

Following our Race Course

  • We use yellow or pink flags, signs, and arrows to mark the course.
  • We add highly reflective 3M tape (this is the best quality reflective tape available) to each flag on trails you could see at dark or dusk.
  • Photo is of Sid Wegener adding reflectors to each flag, Sid is our Course manager
