Welcome to Key Insights Newsletter
APRIL 2018 Edition!!!

I have the honor of being the 2018 Chair of the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce so my Newsletter will focus more on Key Biscayne events and Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce Business promotion. I am very passionate about supporting and advocating for our local businesses. We are blessed to live on an Island with world class amenities, restaurants and merchants.

As a life-long resident and Realtor on Key Biscayne, I love sharing upcoming events and Interesting activities offered around our community for the residents and frequent visitors of our Island  Paradise.

My father, Federico Padovan, moved our family (including grandparents) to Key Biscayne in 1973. I was raised  on the Island and left briefly to earn a BFA degree at NYU. But my heart was always here so I returned to my Island Paradise home where I am raising 4th generation Key Biscayners with my husband Donnie Hall.

To read more about me,
We also have three lovely contributors sharing their insights as well! Please see their monthly articles at the bottom of each newsletter.
I want to sincerely THANK all of you for the wonderful feedback and interest in participating in our Newsletter

Are you in search of  parenting tips ? Do you wish there was a  parenting school ? Do you wish there was a way to communicate with your children so they can better understand you and you, them?
Parenthood is a job like no other. There are beautiful moments for sure, but they're also moments are we are frustrated, confused, angry, sad, depressed, overwhelmed. Parenting is the most under-appreciated job of all time. It's also one of the few jobs where we receive absolutely no training. As parents, we want to best for our children. We seek out the best food, clothes, car seats, high chairs, strollers, best education, best neighborhoods, etc.... And we spend time doing homework finding out the best of all these things. How much time do we spend trying to be the best parent possible? It seems that we are all conditioned to believe parents don't require any education, experience, continual education, skills, techniques. Instead, we are left without Tips and Help to understand our children better, their ever-changing development and how that transformation affects our method of parenting and how our approach to parenting affects our ever-changing child.
This course will give you the foundation skills to be the best possible parent. While the course offers many tips, it's more  a school of understanding. It will provide you with the  needed fundamentals to help guide you through parenthood. And with this understanding, you will  be less stressed. T his course will give you the foundational understanding of human and child  development. It offers frameworks and principles with actions that you can immediately take to get the  results you are looking for in the short and long term. We will take a look at:
  • what we know
  • how we currently operate
  • address reality
  • how the mind works
  • how children function
  • effective parenting plans
  • communication and discipline techniques
  • And so much more...
This information is science based and the concepts are derived from child development specialist like;
  • Jean Piaget
  • Erik Erikson
  • Robert Kegan
  • Morris Massey
  • Daniel J. Siegel M.D.
  • Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D.
  • Gary Chapman Ph.D.
  • Ross Campbell Ph.D.
  • and Star Family Coaching
If you are struggling as a parent, you are in good company; most parents' biggest secret is this struggle, then this course is exactly what you need. Parenthood  can be every bit as wonderful as you once imagined it to be and more. All you need is knowledge and a plan. This course will give you both and much more. Become an Empowered Parent.

The Magic, Illusion & Unbelievable Truth of Youth League Sports
Looking at the culture of Youth League Sports and the relationship between adults and children is merely a microcosm of the misunderstanding adults have about what children need. The reasons why parents and coaches are miscommunicating and the impacts of these misunderstandings are exposed in this book. There are valid reasons why we have gotten it wrong for so long. There is layer upon layer of illusions illustrated within these pages that explain why it is we can not see the truth. It is as if a grand Magician is performing the perfect illusion yet the magician turns out to be us and we don't even know it.

The Magic, Illusion and Unbelievable truth details over 40 assumptions based perceptions, that cause Coaches and Parents to believe they are doing the right and the best thing for children. And the Unbelievable truth that despite the mountain of data, years of science made available to the public that proves that we are not close to doing the right or best by our children, we still due to these illusions, continue to behave in ways that do more harm than help.

This book details the history of Youth Sports, back to a time when we did do the right and best thing for children, through the period of when we changed our focus and things began to go wrong. It looks at various models used over the past 150 years of youth league sports. And it highlights the ongoing debate between specialization versus diversification.

This book contains resources from over 150 sources. Research, polls, studies, expert opinions, articles written by the leading experts in child sports interaction. These studies are backed by some of the biggest institutions in the world. From Ivy League schools to the Carnegie Insititute. Michigan State University, George Washington University, and the University of Calgary are merely three of the dozens that have public reports that were used for the making of this book. The Aspen Insititute, the Women's Sports Foundation and a number of US Goverment departments also make up much of the content of this book. This book is NOT opinion based. It is fact-based. And the unbelievable truth is that even with facts, people we still choose to do the wrong thing and even more unbelievable is that they will choose the wrong thing for their children. This shocking almost absurd truth flies in the face of how we would imagine parents behave. As parents, we want the best for our children yet, in general, we seem ill-prepared to be parents and certainly, we are misguided about how to direct our children when it comes to many areas of their life including youth sports.

The good news is that there are proven effective methods available to us, and we have many examples that go all the way back to the birth of youth sports to guide us. Today there places in the world where massive change has occurred and the results have been magical. A good kind of Magical.

So come find out what we are doing wrong and how we can do better by our children. Pick up a copy of the Magic, Illusion & Unbelievable Truth of Youth League Sports and help us change our behavior for the better.

(reposted from 4/2017)
Spring is the time for renewal.  It is the time to "plant the seeds" of growth and change. Take time to reflect on your life and find the direction you want to take. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

1) Appreciate what you have, do not focus on what you don't have.
2) Build on what is good and positive in your life.
3) See the obstacles and difficulties as opportunities.
4) Get out of your comfort zone, that is where real growth takes place.
5) Do not allow fear to cause inaction, go for it!

Do not let your battery of life run out....Recharge!

Sprinkle Your Gratitude with Joy

Everyone knows the significance of experiencing life from the vantage point of gratitude. An attitude of gratitude lifts the spirt to a higher vibration and attracts plenitude. From a lens of appreciation, life looks and feels better and so are the consequences and results, at its least thanks to the law of attraction. Life gives you more of what you focus on.
How about taking thankfulness to the next level and sprinkling a little fun and joy along the way? There is truly some magic to making life a more rewarding journey when we add the element of amusement and wonderment analogous to appreciating the silver lining of every cloud. We all have challenges of one form or another in varying degrees and intensity. Why not take the risk to make it more enjoyable like a kid rolling in a field of cotton candy? You have nothing to lose except a higher feeling of satisfaction which will only attract more people and circumstances that raised you to your higher vibe.
Don't practice gratitude because you should (i.e., there are people starving in the world.) Instead practice it because you can and it feels better than sulking and complaining. Take appreciation a step even further. Sprinkle a little fairy dust of fun and happiness and watch the miracles unfold.

How to Network Effectively
Your network is your net worth, as you may have heard. Its completely essential that you network, network, network. Your circle of connectivity will assist you greatly as you climb closer and closer to your vision. In expanding your network, you will also assist others to do the same.
Amateur networks work the room like an ego possessed squirrel. You want to avoid that type of behavior. It really doesn't help anyone. Networking is an art and a relationship when done well and with intention.
I created a simple worksheet to get you thinking of ways you can network effectively to show results. Create your concise branding message, walk in with intention to make strategic and authentic connections. Walk through this worksheet to get your mindset read.

We invite you to visit  daily for the best advice and inspiration. Be sure to connect with your local FemCity community and attend one of our FEM Marketplaces, too [a.k.a. Girls' Night Out Events]. FemCity was specifically designed to make your journey less turbulent and to help you "have it all" (insert your own definition here).
