Looking for a great way to help out in your community and earn volunteer service hours, too?   Join children, teens and adults in a volunteer eco-restoration project to keep Bear Cut Preserve healthy and clean. Learn about how plastic pollution is affecting our ecosystems and learn ways to reduce your impact on the environment.

- Use the North Beach entrance of Crandon Park

- Meet at the BNC Visitors Center on the 2nd Floor

- Wear close-toed shoes

- Bring a reusable water bottle (please, no single use plastic water bottles here!)

- Pack a lunch and stay for an idyllic afternoon at the beach!

Get inspired to run at the 41st Annual Key Biscayne Lighthouse 10K/5K Run! The course starts and finishes near the base of the historical Cape Florida Lighthouse, going through the State Park and the beautiful Village of Key Biscayne. Water stations, clocks, and volunteers stand along the way to help with directions and encourage you! Pre- and post-race, there are vendors with food, as well as free snacks and massages provided to runners. Motivate yourself to place top three in your age category, to get up on stage for a medal!

Help keep plastics and trash out of the ocean and our park. Free entrance, all supplies provided, bring a reusable water bottle to reduce plastic waste. We'll have snacks and ice water, sunscreen and community service hour acknowledgement letters.

This month, we're basing out of Area A and concentrating on our North beach area

Rotary Club of Key Biscayne Foundation presents a unique wine event: 

"THE ULTIMATE TASTING" 
In this year's showdown, five judges will taste through the finest wines produced in the world. This will not be new vs old- this will be every wine for itself! The ultimate variety of wines from both the new and the old world will compete. 21 wine varietals, five judges, two winners. 

The evening begins with a tasty Prosecco upon arrival to "season the palate" for the wonderful wines to follow. More than 30 wines will be offered including the wines participating in the competition. 

The wines will consist of the following varietals: 

WHITES 

Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Grigio, Albarino, White blend 

REDS 

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cab Franc, Zinfandel, Syrah, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Primitivo, Chianti, Red blend.

Drag a net in the seagrass and who knows what you may come up with! There's sea life of all shapes and sizes living in the seagrass right outside our doors. From seahorse to sea star, pipefish to pufferfish, the variety of sea life is amazing. The reasons why parents and coaches are miscommunicating and the impacts of these misunderstandings are exposed in this book. There are valid reasons why we have gotten it wrong for so long. These studies are backed by some of the biggest institutions in the world. From Ivy League schools to the Carnegie Insititute. Michigan State University, George Washington University, and the University of Calgary are merely three of the dozens that have public reports that were used for the making of this book. The Aspen Insititute, the Women's Sports Foundation and a number of US Goverment departments also make up much of the content of this book. This book is NOT opinion based. It is fact-based. And the unbelievable truth is that even with facts, people we still choose to do the wrong thing and even more unbelievable is that they will choose the wrong thing for their children. This shocking almost absurd truth flies in the face of how we would imagine parents behave. As parents, we want the best for our children yet, in general, we seem ill-prepared to be parents and certainly, we are misguided about how to direct our children when it comes to many areas of their life including youth sports. 

The good news is that there are proven effective methods available to us, and we have many examples that go all the way back to the birth of youth sports to guide us. Today there places in the world where massive change has occurred and the results have been magical. A good kind of Magical.

Wynwood Art Walk has become one of the most iconic events in Miami. It takes place on the second Saturday of each and every month. The event has organically grown from a gallery night to an incredible collection of artists, dancers, gourmet food trucks, music and the best people watching in South Florida. Wynwood and Art Walk itself have always been on the cutting edge. Graffiti, which is now on everyone's radar, has always been a part of Wynwood.
