In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Ephesian 2:21-22
From April 3 to 11, 2022, GSB Fundraising consultants Mike Ward and Paul Marsh conducted a feasibility study for the Hope South Campus building project. Over 108 households participated and provided a solid foundation for proceeding forward with the project.
The following is a short summary of key results of the feasibility study:
General Observations:
- Over 80% of respondents felt that the project is either “Critical to the future” or “Important to the future” indicating a very strong belief in the need. Few, if any, additional projects were mentioned that should be addressed at this time.
- Interviewees and survey respondents were asked to share whether or not they would support the campaign financially and if so, at what level. There is a desire to introduce different levels of giving, so families of a variety of financial means can have a notable impact on the Hope South Campus development.
Recommendations:
1. Launch a $3.5 - $5 million campaign immediately. Silent phase will take place now. Public campaign will happen in January-March of 2023.
2. Launch the activity center ($500,000 building cost) project at an expanded scale for at least 50 people in meetings. This space needs to be configured to accommodate office space after the Worship Center is built but before the office complex is completed.
3. Construct the Worship Center building ($3 million) at the Hope South Campus site but hold off on the Office Building for now. Should the campaign receipts exceed the cost of the Worship Center facility and the projects for Hope Central and Hope Lake Weir Campuses, it is recommended to pay down debt.
4. Upon completion of the campaign in April 2023, launch a strategic planning process for all three sites. Strategic Planning timetable is April 2023 to October 2023.
Our pastors and the Church Council are continuing their review of the feasibility study and the development of their shared ministry and evangelism plans for Hope South Campus. Further updates about our visioning for Hope South Campus will be forthcoming.
