Workshop 1 – Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 1-1:45pm EDT
Best Practices in Interacting with Youth Remotely – Basic Introduction to Remote Learning
As youth serving organizations continue move programming to virtual and remote environments, it is important to understand lessons learned about the best ways to interact with youth virtually. TGR Foundation professional development staff will guide participants through the best practices of remote interaction with youth and have a chance to review functionality of some tech tools that make this interaction possible.
Workshop 2 – Friday, September 18, 2020 at 1 - 1:45pm EDT
Migrating In-Person Practices to a Remote Setting
Successful facilitators experienced working with youth in-person have developed a routine of practices to structure these sessions while developing relationships to empower. Working remotely feels really different primarily because fewer facilitators have established this clear routine to make the work feel impactful, over a virtual medium. TGR Foundation facilitators will guide participants through unpacking their routines for working with youth in-person and help them determine remote routines to achieve the same outcomes.
Workshop 3 – Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 2:00 – 2:30pm
Touring TGR EDU: Explore – Free Resources for Educators, Families and Students
TGR Foundation, in partnership with Discovery Education, has curated many helpful resources for educators, students and families, from college access lessons and tips, to STEM focused virtual explorations and design challenges aimed at getting the whole family involved in learning. TGR Foundation Director of Digital Learning will take participants on a tour of these resources and get them thinking how the youth and families they work with could benefit from their use.
