2020 Convention Keynote Preview

At any point in life, you or your students possess the ability to change your perspective in powerful ways that can enrich your lives. NBEA Conference Travel and the Corona Virus - Facts from the CDC

With the NBEA Boston convention fast approaching and the Corona virus (COVID-19) making headlines in the news everyday, NBEA wanted to get answers to important questions regarding your safety and travel to Boston. Here is what we found as of the date of publication.

Question: Should travelers cancel or postpone a trip due to the risk of catching COVID-19?

Answer: Not currently, in the U.S. "The Center for Disease Control (CDC) does not recommend canceling or postponing travel to destinations with level 1 travel notices because the risk of COVID-19 is thought to be low. Currently, the continental U.S. has no COVID-19 travel health notices. If you travel, take the following routine precautions:

Avoid contact with sick people.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
Clean your hands often by washing them with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60%–95% alcohol. Soap and water should be used if hands are visibly dirty. It is especially important to clean hands after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose."

Question: Would travelers benefit from wearing face mask?

Answer: "The CDC does not recommend travelers wear facemasks to protect themselves from COVID-19. You may choose to wear a mask, but it is more important that you take these steps." [Mentioned above.]

Fremont High School Helps Prepare Students for College Business Courses

Think back to your time in high school.

For the most part, each class was largely formatted the same way. Sit down, follow along to a teacher’s lecture, do your homework at the end of the day and eventually take a test.

Then repeat the process again and again throughout the year.

It can be an effective means to teach students. However, more modern approaches that focus on projects and activities rather than this traditional style have become more popular throughout the years.

Share Your Ideas in a Business Education Forum Article

Do you have a unique or especially effective way to deliver business education content to your students? Have you discovered the secret to reaching Millennials or Generation Z students? Make some new friends by sharing your ideas with teaching peers through an article in the Business Education Forum .

Manuscripts are accepted on a continuing basis and should consist of approximately 1500-2000 words following APA format. Manuscripts on any business education content area, e.g.,—accounting, communication, economics, personal economics, entrepreneurship, management, marketing—or teaching methodology are needed. Check your current issues of the Forum to see what others are writing. Manuscripts are currently being solicited for the 2020-2021 academic year.
